OLOP PEWS AND CHAIRS We are really thrilled to have our new pews and chairs installed by the ICS team earlier this week. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all parishioners for their contributions towards the purchase of these church furnishings. We would like to ask everyone who has dedicated a pew or chair in memory of a loved one to meet with Venecia or Brid to locate the furniture and validate the writing on the dedication plaque. We have detected a number of typographical errors that require correction. Please spend some time on Sunday following the 9.30am Mass at Our Lady of Peace to complete this short exercise.
HOST OUR LADY WITH THE ROSARY CAMPAIGN October is a month dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. Devotion to Mary has always been at the heart of our life and worship. It’s a good time to remember that Mary’s ‘yes’ changed the world. Our Lady’s statue will be passed from one household to another throughout the month of October. We invite families to come together to say the Rosary and if possible, invite neighbors to pray with them. Please contact Venecia, our Parish Secretary, via email office.ourladyofpeace[AT]northamptondiocese.org or by phone at 01628 60576 to express your interest and provide a few preferable dates.
OFFERTORY The collection for 29th September amounted to £614.42. The DONA plate offerings amounted to £49.02 for this weekend. We are very grateful for your continued support. There will be a retiring collection this weekend for CAFOD. Please give using the envelopes provided or give online at cafod.org.uk/envelope
NEW YOUTH GROUP We are thrilled to announce the creation of a new Youth Group designed specifically for children aged 7-12 years old. This exciting initiative aims to foster friendship, community, encouragement and to have fun with our young people. Meetings will be held every 3rd Sunday of each Month after Mass, alternating between Our Lady of Peace and St. Andrew’s.
The first meeting will take place on October 20th directly after Mass at Our Lady of Peace. To join, please sign up using the QR code provided on the poster at St Andrew’s, or fill out the registration sheet available after Masses. We are actively seeking young leaders to join our team. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please contact the Youth Leaders. We look forward to welcoming our young people to this vibrant new community!
POPE’S PRAYER INTENTION FOR OCTOBER For a shared mission. We pray that the Church continue to sustain in all ways a Synodal lifestyle, as a sign of co-responsibility, promoting the participation, the communion and the mission shared among priests, religious and lay people.
ST ANDREWS CHURCH FURNITURE The chairs in St. Andrew’s Shared Church have done wonderful service to both the congregations who use them throughout every week of the year. The frames are still very firm and well made and most of the seats within the frames are still quite firmly attached. They are comfortable pieces of public furniture. However, fairly frequently, there are instances where a seat will detach from a frame. Obviously time shrivels the glue and the seat is then left in the tenuous grip of four very small screws. If the chair is lifted by the front lip the break is easily made. If the chair is lifted by the front stretcher just beneath the plywood seat the damage is avoided.
Similar handling advice may be aimed at wooden or folding tables which need to be lifted from one position to another and not dragged over the tiled floor. Legs are placed under severe strain and rapidly become dangerously unfit for purpose. Your attention to the above two situations will be very much appreciated.
MASS INTENTIONS If you wish to book a Mass Intention please place the intention in an envelope, write the name of the person(s) who the Mass is for, whether Deceased or Intention, also the name of the person who is offering the Mass. This will avoid any disappointment for the Mass intentions not being offered on the requested date(s).
PARISH SUPPORT GROUP We have a parish support group for those who have been bereaved. If you feel this might be for you please ring 01628 666278. You will be warmly welcomed.
MARRIAGE PAPERWORK ADMINISTRATION FEES Please note on the administration fees below which relate to the processing (and postage costs) of marriage paperwork for marriages and convalidations which will take place outside of your parish, and are therefore, subject to approval by the Chancery Office in the diocese.
These fees will take effect from 1st May 2024.
UK & Europe – £30
Rest of the World – £50
The fees should be paid to the parish by the engaged couple. The Parish will then need to forward a cheque, made payable to RCDN, with the completed marriage paperwork to the Chancery Office. Completed marriage paperwork should be submitted to the Chancery Office a minimum of 3 months before the marriage is due to take place.

In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
GOING INTO HOSPITAL? If you wish to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion and Anointing of the Sick before going into Hospital please let us know. A visit can be arranged from Fr Anthony or Fr Marek.
CONFIRMING OUR PARISH NAME In discussion with Bishop David recently, it has been decided to firm up the name of our combined Parish by combining the two names together in a new logo. Going forward we are ‘Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s’. The Bishop is happy with this slight amendment as it helps in some way for people to understand that we are truly one Parish and not two separate entities. You will see the new logo appearing across the Parish in future.
