MASS CHANGE There will be no Mass at 9.30am on Friday, 10th November due to the Requiem Mass at 10.00am for John Souvenir Fernandes RIP.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY Sunday 5th November at OLOP, there will be a liturgy of the Word for children from Reception to Year 3 during the 9.30am Mass.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL will meet on Monday, 6th November at 7.30pm in St Andrew’s.

DECEASED June Moorhouse RIP who died on 17th October aged 84, her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday 8th November at 3.00pm in Greenacres Chiltern Beaconsfield. John Souvenir Fernandes RIP who died on 6th October aged 71, his Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday 10th November at 10.00am in Our Lady of Peace Church, followed by Burial at Slough Cemetery. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.

BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please leave the names of any relatives and friends you wish to be entered in the Book of Remembrance, to be ready for the 1st November. Kindly print the names clearly – if the names have already been entered there is no need to enter them again. Please return names to the Presbytery or email Venecia on office.ourladyofpeace[AT]northamptondiocese.org. Please do not write any names in the book.

HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are available and can be found in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put your offerings in the envelope. The envelopes can be placed in the Holy Souls Box in front of the Altar. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November.

“BUILDING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER” We thank everyone for praying the Rosary in the month of October and putting some money aside in honor of, Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. This weekend there will be Stewards at the back of Church receiving whatever we have saved to aid in building our future together.

OFFERTORY The collection for 30th October amounted to £740.43. The DONA plate offerings amounted to £73.68 for this weekend. The Tea & Coffee collection for 30th October amounted to £18.33. We are very grateful for your continued support.

WEDNESDAY COFFEE MORNING The collection for Wednesday, 1st November amounted to £17.65. Many thanks for your continued support.

RETIRING COLLECTION There will be retiring collection next weekend for the Catholic Youth Service.

WE WELCOME the children from Year 3 & Year 5 to our 9.30am Mass on Tuesday, 14th November.

ST FRANCIS XAVIER FEAST Will be celebrated in St Andrew’s Church for All Goan Community on Sunday 3rd December at 3.00pm. All are welcome!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT A fantastic night of music at Our Lady of Peace Church Christmas Concert will be taking place at the church on Tuesday 12th December at 7.30pm. Tickets, for what should be a very memorable evening with wonderful performers will be going on sale after each Mass from November. Tickets will be £15. YOUTH GROUP NEWSFLASH! The Youth Group have created their own youth parish magazine which will be distributed at the end of Mass this weekend for a small donation. Lots of hard work from our Youths has gone into creating articles, comic strips, activities and a even a competition to enter. We hope you enjoy reading it.’

YOUTH MASS Will be celebrating a Youth Mass on Sunday 26th November at 9.30am for the Feast of Christ the King and World Youth Day. All young people welcome!

ST GILBERT’S MISSION PROJECT Mary McCarthy will be selling Christmas goods and Blankets after the 11.30am Mass in St Andrew’s on Sunday 5th November. Please support this work.

TEA AND COFFEE The money raised from the teas and coffees will be for the Church Refurbishment Fund. Refreshments are available each Sunday after the 9.30am Mass.

COFFEE SHOP is held at St Andrew’s every Saturday morning from 10.00am – 12.00noon. It is open to everyone, please pop in and enjoy tea/coffee and cake!

OLOP REFURBISHMENT We are all reminded that donations to the refurbishment of our Parish Church of Our Lady of Peace are now very welcome. Please find the blue envelopes supplied at the entrance exclusively for monies donated towards church refurbishments. The Dona Plate is also currently set up to accept kind donations for this project, and those who donate via bank transfer or standing order are advised to specify that the payment is specifically for the refurbishment of Our Lady of Peace Church (OLOP Refurbishment). May God, whose house you are helping to build, bless your lives with his Divine blessings.

WYCOMBE HOMELESS PROJECT Please see poster on parish noticeboard of this local charity supported by the Knights of St Columba who are raising funds to help homeless people in South Bucks who need emergency accommodation and specialist support to avoid illegal and unfair eviction, also access to health services and much more. OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.

GOING INTO HOSPITAL? If you wish to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion and Anointing of the Sick before going into Hospital please let us know. A visit can be arranged from Fr Anthony or Fr Marek.

CONFIRMING OUR PARISH NAME In discussion with Bishop David recently, it has been decided to firm up the name of our combined Parish by combining the two names together in a new logo. Going forward we are ‘Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s’. The Bishop is happy with this slight amendment as it helps in some way for people to understand that we are truly one Parish and not two separate entities. You will see the new logo appearing across the Parish in future.

ROSARY GROUP The Rosary Group recite the Rosary after 9.30am Mass each morning in Our Lady of Peace Church. Please join them if you can.

CATHOLIC CONVERSATIONS GROUP We meet every week, very informally, with a view to exploring the many different aspects of our faith. If you have questions about your Catholic faith and would like to join our group to faith share, you would be most welcome. SHEKHINAH PRAYER GROUP Meets weekly on Wednesdays from 7.00pm to 8.30pm via Zoom. They hold Catholic teachings on different topics. Lectio Divina (Praying the Scriptures), takes place on alternative weeks. The talk for this Wednesday 8th November will be Growing in Grace (Part 2). The Speaker will be Mrs. Philomena Nortey. CELEBRATING OUR RICHES Bishop David will preside at Mass to celebrate diversity across our diocese. On Saturday 4th November at midday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Luton. Mass will be followed by refreshments. All are welcome. It is hoped that similar Masses will take place throughout our Diocese in 2024.

DIVINE ADORATION IN NOVEMBER You are invited to another beautiful evening of Eucharistic Adoration, including praise and worship and prayer ministry, at St. Augustine’s, High Wycombe, HP13 6NZ, on Saturday 11th November, at 7pm. Everyone is welcome. Please invite your friends and family. There is plenty of parking opposite the church.

BISHOP’S CERTIFICATE IN CATECHESIS LEVEL 1 Do you feel called to be a catechist? Do you want to help children, young people or adults grow as disciples of Jesus? Are you already a catechist and want to develop your understanding and skills? If so come along to this in person Catechist Training Course designed to equip you. At the beautiful setting of the Bridgettine Guest House, Iver Heath on Friday 10th November (eve) and all-day Saturday 11th November. You can attend this course on a non-residential or residential basis. The cost for includes the course, all course materials, meals on Friday evening and Saturday as well as refreshments. £75 per person non-residential or £125 residential (staying one night). Rooms available are single, twin and shared on a first come first served basis. Arrivals will be from 5.00pm on Friday evening and dinner at 7.00pm. PACT ROADSHOW is on Saturday, 18th November, from 10.00am to 1.30pm in the St Thomas Centre, Northampton Cathedral. All are welcome to attend and meet with PACT staff, volunteers, prison chaplains, and PACT CEO Andy Keen-Downs. To find out more about this ministry to prisoners and their families. PACT is currently supporting five prisons in our diocese. Refreshments will be provided. This event will be opened and closed by Bishop David.

THE GOOD COUNSEL BALL Black Tie Ball will take place at 6.00pm Saturday 18th November in Kensington, London. Live Band. Silent Auction. MASS FOR DECEASED CLERGY On Tuesday 21st November at 11.30am in Northampton Cathedral, Bishop David will celebrate Mass for the deceased clergy of our diocese. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Refreshments will follow Mass in the St Thomas Centre.

ENGAGING THE DISENGAGED The Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth is partnering with the Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales to host an online seminar with Sherry Weddell on “Engaging the Disengaged”. OUR LADY OF PEACE CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS FAIR The Friends of OLOP invite you to their Christmas Fair on Saturday 25th November at 11am – 2pm. If you are interested in having a stall? We are looking to have a wide variety of stalls selling lots of lovely gifts such as Christmas decorations, jewellery, toiletries, toys and more. MASS OF THANKSGIVING FOR DONORS is an opportunity to show gratitude for all those who have offered to our mission this year, through prayers, time or a financial gift. Mass will be at 11.00am on 25 November at Northampton Cathedral. You would be very welcome to attend and please encourage anyone who has given to attend also.

MARK YOUR DIARIES! ANNUAL PARISH RETREAT We are thrilled to welcome Dr Helen Costigane, SHCJ to join us for our annual Parish Retreat which will take place on the 15th and 16th December. Dr Costigane is the Programme Director for St Mary’s University in Theology. A member of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, she has studied at the Universities of Glasgow, London, and Leuven (Belgium). After 22 years at Heythrop College, University of London, she joined St Mary’s in February 2017. Dr Costigane’s research and teaching interests are wide-ranging and include Christian Ethics, Canon Law, Pastoral Theology, History, and Ecclesiology and she is also a published author. This will be a truly magnificent one-off opportunity and we invite everyone to attend this event which begins on Friday 15th at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace Church, followed by a session specifically for Eucharistic Ministers on the morning of the 16th December from 10.00 – 13.00 again at OLP.

A PARISHIONER HAS VERY KINDLY OFFERED TO PRINT AND DELIVER COPIES OF OUR WEEKLY BULLETIN to those unable to attend Mass each week, this would only be posted through the letterbox. If you know of anyone who would like a copy delivered, please contact the Parish office on 01628 605764. Please obtain the permission of the Parishioner to provide their address.

MASS BOOKINGS Kindly drop off your intentions at the Presbytery, place it in the donation box in the Church or give it to Fr Anthony. You can still make a request for Masses by email and telephone.

FINANCES We are extremely grateful, not only for your financial support, but also to the volunteers who help in so many ways for the Church to remain open for Masses.

Your valued ongoing support to the Parish can be made through the following options:

Donating by phone: ‘Giving Tuesday’ – Telephone Donation In addition to the online donation facilities currently available, the Diocese has begun a ‘Giving Tuesday’. Each Tuesday between 10:00am and 4:00pm, you can call this number, 01604 712065, and donate to your parish.
Online Donation We are now using a new provider ‘Invest My Community’ who work with other Catholic Diocese, schools and charities. You can access our online giving page via the donate button on our Diocesan Website or by using the following link https://northamptondiocese.org/donate/ If you would like to use this facility to make your regular, one off donations please ensure you indicate this along with the name of your parish, and any other message detail in the ‘Public Message’ box. Please note this information is not made visible to the public.
Standing Order via donor’s own bank: You can set up a standing order for donations to your parish using either your online bank account or in branch. You can also make a one-off payment to the parish. The information required to make the donation is as follows:

Please indicate on this form if you are not a tax payer but would like to set up a standing order only. There are two sides/sheets to this form, it should be printed, completed, signed and returned to our Parish office, we will then forward to central offices at Bishop’s House for processing at a later date. Please remember to state which parish this standing is for i.e. ‘For the benefit of Our Lady of Peace, Slough Parish’ section at the top of the form. Banks will require 7 working days from receipt of these forms to activate the request so please ensure the start date reflects this 7 day period to ensure the S.O. can take effect.

Contactless Donations 💳 We have installed ‘Digital Collection Plate’ contactless terminals in the Churches, allowing you to donate using a contactless debit/credit card, NFC smartphone or watch. Simply enter the amount you wish to donate and hold your card (or NFC device) to the reader. You can also opt-in for Gift Aid to increase your donation by 25%. If you are a UK taxpayer then donating with Gift Aid means that we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 received.
Parish Donations Portal 💳 After a successful trial of the physical digital collection plate in our Churches, we are pleased to announce that a web portal is now available as a queue-free alternative. Either use the link (Gift Aid giving is available using one-time registration): https://portal.mydona.com/assets/webPay/index.php?cid=419 or with your QR code reader mobile app, scan the code in the printed newsletter, click on the link to mydona.com, and it will give you the same options available on the Digital Plate in Church.
