OLOP REFURBISHMENT We are all reminded that donations to the refurbishment of our Parish Church of Our Lady of Peace are now very welcome. Please find the blue envelopes supplied at the entrance exclusively for monies donated towards church refurbishments. The Dona Plate is also currently set up to accept kind donations for this project, and those who donate via bank transfer or standing order are advised to specify that the payment is specifically for the refurbishment of Our Lady of Peace Church (OLOP Refurbishment). May God, whose house you are helping to build, bless your lives with his Divine blessings.
A PARISH FUNDRAISER URGENTLY NEEDED As the parish begins her refurbishment and reordering project for Our Lady of Peace Church, in which we hope everyone in the parish will participate, we are looking for a resilient and passionate individual to lead our fundraising efforts, along with volunteers to be part of our fundraising team. As you are aware, we need to raise funds for this project from the parish, so we need someone who will work with the Diocese to understand the grants we can apply for, look for alternative fundraising opportunities available to us, and lead the team of parish fundraisers in any events we run within the community. If this is you, or you know someone who can assist us, please contact Fr Anthony as soon as possible.

Preparation for the Assembly begins with our launch weekend. Please pray for our whole diocese to become pilgrims of hope as we respond to the Synod listening.
“The purpose of the Synod… is not to produce documents, but to plant dreams, draw forth prophecies and visions, allow hope to be nourished, inspire trust, bind up wounds… and create a bright resourcefulness that will enlighten minds, warm hearts, give strength to our hands.” – Preparatory Document for the Synod

OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
MASS INTENTIONS If you wish to book a Mass Intention please place the intention in an envelope, write the name of the person(s) who the Mass is for, whether Deceased or Intention, also the name of the person who is offering the Mass. This will avoid any disappointment on the Mass intentions not being offered on the requested date(s).
SLOUGH FOODBANK are appealing for more donations, the cost of living crisis has resulted in fewer donations and more clients and they are having to use their funds to buy food themselves to meet the current demand. The following link will take you to a list of items which they need. https://slough.foodbank.org.uk/give-help-2/foodbank-wishlist/
CONFIRMING OUR PARISH NAME In discussion with Bishop David recently, it has been decided to firm up the name of our combined Parish by combining the two names together in a new logo. Going forward we are ‘Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s’. The Bishop is happy with this slight amendment as it helps in some way for people to understand that we are truly one Parish and not two separate entities. You will see the new logo appearing across the Parish in future.

BLAZE 2023 The confirmation candidates of our Parish will be participating in this year’s BLAZE retreating taking place on Saturday 29th April 2023 at the Ridgeway Centre in Milton Keynes. BLAZE gives Confirmandi from across the Diocese the opportunity to come together: To be celebrated and encouraged as they prepare to be Confirmed, through an engaging and fast-paced day. The day starts at 11.00am and finishes at 5.00pm.
This is a great chance for young people to meet Bishop David who will be with us for the day and celebrating a vigil Mass to conclude the day. Throughout the day, Confirmandi will take part in a number of interactive workshops that include a mixture of different themes and activities. Although there will be some input before the groups go and explore their workshops, our aim is that Blaze is experiential: giving Confirmandi the chance to engage with the wider church and to be impacted by the many ways the Holy Spirit is at work within her!
