Parish Notices
FR ANTHONY AND FR MAREK would like to thank you for your Easter offering and for all the gifts and kindness shown them in the Parish! May God bless you all.
WE WELCOME the children from Year 4 to our 10.30am Mass on Friday, 21st April.
OLOP REFURBISHMENT “And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for this good work.” (Neh. 2:18). With these words from the book of Nehemiah, I would like to kindly invite us as a parish to give a determined and resolute consideration to the plan of refurbishing our Parish Church of Our Lady of Peace. It is obvious that the physical space and structure in which we worship and commune require refurbishing and refitting. Lisa Timms will speak to us at all Masses this weekend about our future plans. I am convinced that the time has come for us to rise and renew the face of this Church.
OFFERTORY The collection for 09th April amounted to £2,353.83. The DONA plate offerings amounted to £245.79 this weekend. We are very grateful for your continued support.
FIRST RECONCILIATION CERTIFICATES Congratulations to our First Holy Communion Candidates who celebrated their First Reconciliation and received the Sacrament of Confession on March 18th, 2023 as they prepare to receive their First Holy Communion. During this weekend’s 9:30 a.m. Mass, each Candidate will be given a certificate of First Reconciliation. Let us kindly keep our candidates and their families in our Prayers.

CARITIAS DIOCESE OF NORTHAMPTON – COST OF LIVING CRISIS Do you, or someone you know, need help due to the current cost-of-living crisis? Many people have been impacted by the current financial crisis which has meant that we are all spending more on essentials such as heating, food, and transport.
Whatever your circumstances, this situation may be causing you real hardship and you may benefit from assistance or additional support this winter.
Help is available from the Diocese of Northampton contains contact details for some of the support that is available throughout the diocese that you can call or access online. Each local council website is a good starting place. They contain lots of helpful information and links to where you can find a wide range of specific help and assistance, including food banks, cost of living financial support, benefits help and details of local warm spaces. Find out what help is available by contacting caritas[AT]northamptondiocese.org or via phone on 01604 434362.
SAFE SPACES Is a free and independent support service, providing a confidential, personal and safe space for anyone who has been abused by someone in the Church or as a result of their relationship with the Catholic Church of England and Wales, the Church of England or the Church in Wales. The concept for the service has come from survivors of church-related abuse. Survivors have been involved in designing the service, and in selecting which organisation should run it. Email ID: safespaces[AT]victimsupport.org.uk or via phone on 03003 031056. Their phone lines are open Monday to Saturday (10.00am-6:00pm), Thursday (12.00pm-8.00pm), closed on Sunday.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
MASS INTENTIONS If you wish to book a Mass Intention please place the intention in an envelope, write the name of the person(s) who the Mass is for, whether Deceased or Intention, also the name of the person who is offering the Mass. This will avoid any disappointment on the Mass intentions not being offered on the requested date(s).
SLOUGH FOODBANK are appealing for more donations, the cost of living crisis has resulted in fewer donations and more clients and they are having to use their funds to buy food themselves to meet the current demand. The following link will take you to a list of items which they need. https://slough.foodbank.org.uk/give-help-2/foodbank-wishlist/
CONFIRMING OUR PARISH NAME In discussion with Bishop David recently, it has been decided to firm up the name of our combined Parish by combining the two names together in a new logo. Going forward we are ‘Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s’. The Bishop is happy with this slight amendment as it helps in some way for people to understand that we are truly one Parish and not two separate entities. You will see the new logo appearing across the Parish in future.
