STATEMENT REGARDING THE MISSIONARY SOCIETY OF ST PAUL Further to the recent disclosure regarding the potential departure of MSP clergy from the Diocese, please note that discussions are currently very much still in place and no firm decision has been made with regards to when Fr Joseph is leaving. As soon as more information is made available Fr Joseph will announce to the Parish. Thank you for your understanding.
COVID There is still a risk associated with gathering for sustained periods in enclosed spaces and therefore we will continue to monitor our practices in the Churches to ensure we are as Covid secure as possible. Inside Churches we encourage you to continue to wear a mask if possible. There will be no social distancing but please be sensitive to the needs of others around you. For those wishing to maintain social distance the right-hand side aisle (looking at the altar) will be reserved for this purpose.
The sign of peace can be re-introduced, and holy water stoups filled up again. We should continue to ensure there is good ventilation, balancing this against the need for church heating, especially at this time. If you experience any COVID-19 symptoms, stay at home. If you tested positive for COVID-19 and were in Church recently, stay at home and inform us immediately by calling 01628 605764 so that we can take the necessary steps. Thank you for your continued vigilance.

CRISIS IN UKRAINE Please keep all those affected by this conflict in your prayers:
Loving God, we pray for the people of Ukraine, for all those suffering or afraid, that you will be close to them and protect them. We pray for world leaders, for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices. We pray for the world that in this moment of crisis, we may reach out in solidarity to our brothers and sisters in need. May we walk in your ways so that peace and justice become a reality for the people of Ukraine and for all the world. Amen
THE SYNOD – COMPLETION AND NEXT STEPS A huge thanks goes to everyone who participated in the Synod Consultations. As a result of the exercise, we have a healthy and substantial feedback which has now gone to the Diocese. A very big thank you also goes to the team who participated in facilitator training, conducted the consultations which ranged across group sessions, telephone calls, self-filled forms and Zoom calls, recorded the discussions and submitted to the central team for collation.
Thanks are also due to the team who managed the process, setting up schedules, registration and communication. We were blessed with everyone’s diligence, skills and enthusiasm. The parish feedback will be made available in the coming weeks and in addition, we intend to use the content gathered to feed into a Parish Plan – one that is driven by your thoughts and your suggestions. Thank you once again and God bless.

BLAZE 2022 are pleased to announce that bookings for BLAZE 2022 are now open. Bishop David and NYMO invite Confirmandi school Year 7+ to attend BLAZE on Saturday 14th May 2022 at the Ridgeway Centre in Milton Keynes. BLAZE gives Confirmandi from across the Diocese the opportunity to come together: to be celebrated and encouraged as they prepare to be Confirmed, through an engaging and fast-paced day. The day starts at 11.00am and finishes at 5.00pm. At different points in the day, smaller groups of Confirmandi will have the chance to meet Bishop David and ask him questions. Throughout the day, Confirmandi will take part in a number of interactive workshops that include a mixture of different themes and activities. Although there will be some input before the groups go and explore their workshops, our aim is that Blaze is experiential: giving Confirmandi the chance to engage with the wider church and to be impacted by the many ways the Holy Spirit is at work within her! The cost for both Catechists and Confirmandi is £13 per person. Lunch is provided for catechists, but Confirmandi must bring a packed lunch.
