Notices
DAY OF PRAYER FOR GRANDPARENTS AND THE ELDERLY Pope Francis has called for this day to be observed this Sunday, 25th July, linked to the Feast of SS Anne and Joachim. You may wish to recite the following prayer:
I thank You, Lord, for the comfort of Your presence: even in times of loneliness, You are my hope and my confidence, You have been my rock and my fortress since my youth! I thank You [for having given me a family] and for having blessed me with a long life. I thank You for moments of joy and difficulty, for the dreams that have already come true in my life and for those that are still ahead of me.
I thank You for this time of renewed fruitfulness to which You call me. Increase, O Lord, my faith, make me a channel of your peace, teach me to embrace those who suffer more than me, to never stop dreaming and to tell of your wonders to new generations. Protect and guide Pope Francis and the Church, that the light of the Gospel might reach the ends of the earth.
Send Your Spirit, O Lord, to renew the world, that the storm of the pandemic might be calmed, the poor consoled and wars ended. Sustain me in weakness and help me to live life to the full in each moment that You give me, in the certainty that you are with me every day, even until the end of the age. Amen.
CLERGY NEWS Congratulations to Fr Andy Richardson, Fr Simon Penhalagan and Fr Christopher Perry who have been appointed Episcopal Vicars. Mgr Sean Healy will be handing over his position as Vicar General to Canon Michael Harrison in September, Mgr Sean has been in the post for 20 years as Vicar General for the Diocese. We wish them both well. Please keep them all in your prayers.
CONGRATULATIONS to Tommy Watkins who is to receive the Sacrament of Baptism on Saturday, 31st July, please pray for Tommy, his parents, Godparents and Grandparents.
PARISH PICNIC : THIS SUNDAY, 25TH JULY You are invited to the Presbytery Garden for a parish picnic. In the interest of good safety, rather than the usual ‘Bring and Share’ we felt it would be more appropriate for everyone to bring their own picnic and drinks, picnic rug/folding chairs etc so that we can maintain good hygiene standards. Please join us in the Presbytery Garden at 1.00pm. We very much look forward to seeing you all and to celebrating being together again as much as possible.
CONFIRMATION The Confirmation programme will begin on Thursday, 12th August, further details will be sent via email to all registered.
KEEPING SAFE It is wonderful to see more people at Mass as each week goes by and we continue to encourage you to get both vaccinations as soon as you are invited. In the meantime, as regulations are being lifted by Government, we remain responsible and vigilant, maintaining best possible standards of safety. I am asking you to:
- come to Mass
- wear face covering throughout the duration of services
- sanitize your hands on arrival and departure
- allow the stewards to show you to your seats
- socially distance
- follow the direction of the stewards when approaching the sanctuary for Holy Communion
- sing only if you are invited to do so
I am sure you would join in me in thanking our stewards and volunteers who have been so generous in their service. Thank you, once again, for your cooperation and your patience, which can only serve to keep you and everyone around you safe.

Please obtain the permission of the Parishioner to provide their address to Yvonne.
FEELING ISOLATED? We realise there are many parishioners who are not on our data base who may be feeling isolated from the Parish because they hear nothing from us. To enable us to reach out and find out where people live and how they are managing, we are making a plea for Parishioners to contact people – via telephone or from a 2m distance wearing a mask, who have no access to the internet and encourage them to provide a telephone number to allow us to check on how they are. If you know of any parishioner please let Yvonne know, either via email office.ourladyofpeace[AT]northamptondiocese.org or telephone the office on 01628 605764.
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE PARISH WEBSITE OR WEEKLY NEWSLETTER can be sent to Yvonne. Items on paper and print are also accepted and can be given to Yvonne or Fr Joseph, or delivered to the Presbytery. The deadline for items for the printed bulletin is Thursday 12 noon.
