PARISH OFFICE Yvonne has returned to her duties as Parish Secretary, albeit working from home for two days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am to 2.00pm, until further notice. For all Parish matters please contact Yvonne via email on office.ourladyofpeace[AT]northamptondiocese.org or Fr Joseph via email on frjosephudoh[AT]northamptondiocese.org or you can telephone the Parish office on 01628 605764 and leave a message.
FEELING ISOLATED? We realise there are many parishioners who are not on our data base who may be feeling isolated from the Parish because they hear nothing from us. To enable us to reach out and find out where people live and how they are managing, we are making a plea for Parishioners to contact people – via telephone or from a 2m distance wearing a mask, who have no access to the internet and encourage them to provide a telephone number to allow us to check on how they are. If you know of any parishioner please let Yvonne know, either via email office.ourladyofpeace[AT]northamptondiocese.org or telephone the office on 01628 605764.
MASS CHANGE Please note there will be no Mass at St Andrew’s this Thursday.
DECEASED Please pray for Maria Antonieta Ophelia Almeida RIP who died recently, her Requiem Mass will be strictly private on Thursday, 25th February at 9.30am in Our Lady of Peace, followed by burial at Slough Cemetery. Also please pray for Mavis Doyle RIP who died recently, no details of her funeral service are available currently. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen. Funerals will be strictly private due to a limit of 30 people attending.
GRATEFUL THANKS Riv wishes to say “Thank You” to all Parishioners for the many Mass Cards, flowers, good wishes, Masses offered for happy repose of Mike’s soul and offers of help following Mike’s sudden passing. May God bless you all.
HOMELESS SUNDAY This Sunday, 21st February will be celebrated as Homeless Sunday in our parish. Our parish Charity The London and Slough Run for the homeless has been working hard in Slough for the past year alongside Slough Council and SHOC (Slough Homeless our Concern) to provide for the homeless in the area. Many have been found accommodation and some of which has been funded by the Charity to help people back into Society and to find work. They also collect food from supermarkets and Heathrow caterers, and distribute it to the needy via the Food Banks, hostels and faith communities. The Parish usually supports the annual ‘Sleep out’ which could not take place last year. Knowing that many people are struggling financially the Charity is asking those who can afford to give something to go to the Just Giving page of the website, or drop it in to the Presbytery in an envelope marked ‘London Run’. Very many thanks.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS This will be via Zoom every Friday at 7.30pm, until March 26th.

WITH CURRENT GOVERNMENT RULES More than ever we must take every precaution to ensure that we are all following Government rules by staying at home ensuring that contact with others is strictly ‘essential’ only. Please remember there is no duty or responsibility to come to Church, and there is no obligation to attend Mass on Sunday. If you are feeling unwell please do not attend mass – stay at home.
STAYING ALERT As we enter this phase of the pandemic, it is critical we continue to follow Government rules and guidance. Please remember if you experience any COVID-19 symptoms, stay at home. If you tested positive for COVID-19 and were in Church recently, stay at home and inform us immediately by calling 01628 605764 so that we can take the necessary steps to ensure everyone’s safety. PEACE IN A LENTEN LOCKDOWN Lenten Lockdown may not sound very appealing but even during these tough times of home working and schooling, isolation and general fear, there is also hope. In this Lenten Lockdown resource you will find a number of ideas which can help you through this difficult period, from 5 minute daily prayer, to longer retreat style activities and I would encourage you to explore them in the hope that they help you to find peace and inspiration in our Saviour. This could be a wonderful opportunity to take stock, reflect and to reconnect with Him and bring His light into this darkness’.
