PARISH OFFICE Yvonne has returned to her duties as Parish Secretary, albeit working from home. Yvonne will be working two days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am to 2.00pm, until further notice. CATHOLIC SCHOOLS’ WEEK This week we celebrate the work of Catholic schools in our diocese and ask for your prayers and encouragement for staff and pupils in our Catholic Schools. We also welcome some of the staff and pupils of Our Lady of Peace School who are with us at Mass this weekend.
MONTHLY PARISH ROSARY will be held on Tuesday, 13th October at 7.30pm. If you would like to join us on Zoom, please email Cedrica cedricalobo[AT]yahoo.co.uk.
CONFIRMATION The Parish will be welcoming Bishop David to Confirm our beloved young people who have completed their Confirmation Course, on Sunday 25th October at 2.00pm. We would like to thank our dedicated Catechists and parents who have made this possible. In preparation for both the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation and the life of witnessing to the faith, all Confirmadi are invited to:
- ONLINE BLAZE EVENT on Saturday, 17th October from 11.00am to 3.00pm
- PARISH CONFIRMATION VIGIL/CONFESSION on Saturday, 24th October, 7.00pm – 8.30pm Attendance at both events is compulsory for all our young people involved.
VISIT TO THOSE SHIELDING, SICK AND HOUSEBOUND Fr Joseph would like to visit those shielding, the sick and housebound and would appreciate any information about those who might require a visit.
BAPTISM & MARRIAGE On request.
CONFESSION Confessions will be held at 5.15pm on Saturday in Our Lady of Peace and on request.
PARISH ONLINE PRAYER SERVICE is currently being considered. We are in the process of working out the best way to continue to offer prayer support to all who need it. More information will be provided soon. Meanwhile, let us continue to support and pray for one another in the parish.
RESUMPTION OF PUBLIC LITURGIES AT OUR LADY OF PEACE AND ST ANDREW’S
It has been exceptionally good having Parishioners back in Church for Mass these past 14 weeks. Thank you to our amazing volunteers who have made this possible.
We can confirm that gathering in the Church for public worship and private prayers is not affected by the recent restrictions announced by the Prime Minister, limiting gatherings to not more than six persons. Rule of six does apply for celebrations like baptism outside Mass.
However, during any public celebration of liturgies, we will continue, to the best of our ability, to put in place measures to ensure everyone’s safety. masks must be worn at all times whilst in the church.
THE NHS CONTACT TRACING APP A QR code is on display at our Churches. Leaflets explaining safety measures are available in the Church. Weekend Mass times remain as follows:

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION FOR NEXT YEAR Information on when registration will open for First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion and Confirmation will be made available from November 2020.
MASS BOOKING Kindly drop off your intentions at the Presbytery, place it in the donation box or basket in the Church or give it to Fr Joseph. You can still make a request for Masses by email and telephone.

SECOND COLLECTIONS The Diocese is making a special appeal for your support for the following collections which relates to the work of the Holy See and as our support for the less privileged:
CAFOD Harvest Fast Day –This weekend the 10th /11th our parish is marking CAFOD’s Family Fast Day to help people facing the worst of the coronavirus crisis. You can donate online at cafod.org.uk/give, using one of the envelopes or Text CAFOD to 70085 to donate £10. Texts cost £10 plus one standard rate message. T&C apply.
World Mission Sunday – weekend of 17th /18th October
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE PARISH WEBSITE OR WEEKLY NEWSLETTER can be sent to Yvonne. Items on paper and print are also accepted and can be given to Yvonne or Fr Joseph, or delivered to the Presbytery. The deadline for items for the printed bulletin is Thursday 12 noon.

FINANCES We are extremely grateful not only for your financially support but also to the volunteers who help in so many ways for the Church to remain open for Masses and for private prayer. Your valued ongoing support to the Parish can also be made through the following options:
- Donating by phone: ‘Giving Tuesday’ – Telephone Donation In addition to the online donation facilities currently available, the Diocese has begun a ‘Giving Tuesday’. Each Tuesday between 10:00am and 4:00pm, you can call this number, 01604 712065, and donate to your parish.
- Online Donation We have an online donation facility on our main Diocesan website through Virgin Money giving (link below). If you use this option, we ask that you please indicate in the notes section which parish, including the parish name that you would like your donation to be attributed to. Please note that there is the facility to Gift Aid any donation to your Parish: northamptondiocese.org/donate/
- Standing Order via donor’s own bank: You can set up a standing order for donations to your parish using either your online bank account or in branch. You can also make a one-off payment to the parish. The information required to make the donation is as follows:

There are two sides/sheets to this form, it should be printed, completed, signed and returned to our Parish office, we will then forward to central offices at Bishop’s House for processing at a later date. Please remember to state which parish this standing is for i.e. ‘For the benefit of Our Lady of Peace, Slough Parish’ section at the top of the form. Banks will require 7 working days from receipt of these forms to activate the request so please ensure the start date reflects this 7 day period to ensure the S.O. can take effect. - There is also a donation box in Our Lady of Peace for Mass intentions, offertory, donations, etc.
