PARISH OFFICE Yvonne has returned to her duties as Parish Secretary, albeit working from home. Yvonne will be working two days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am to 2.00pm, until further notice. SEASON OF CREATION is a global ecumenical celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home, starting each year on 1st September and finishing on the feast of St Francis, 4th October. During this season we are encouraged to pray and engage in community events to deepen our relationship with our God, our neighbour and the earth we share. WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR MIGRANTS is celebrated on 27th September 2020. CONFESSION Confessions will be held at 5.15pm on Saturday in Our Lady of Peace and on request.

MASS BOOKING Kindly drop off your intentions at the Presbytery, place it in the donation box or basket in the Church or give it to Fr Joseph. You can still make a request for Masses by email and telephone.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION FOR NEXT YEAR Information on when registration will open for First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion and Confirmation will be made available from November 2020.
CONFIRMATION classes have resumed with a view to welcoming Bishop David to the Confirmation Mass taking place on Sunday 25th October at 2.00pm. Meetings will take place inside the Church. Parents and Candidates have been informed of the safety guidelines and procedures. It was great meeting again with our young people. We would like to thank our dedicated Catechists and parents who have made this possible.
VISIT TO THOSE SHIELDING, SICK AND HOUSEBOUND Fr Joseph would like to visit those shielding, the sick and housebound and would appreciate any information about those who might require a visit.
RESUMPTION OF PUBLIC LITURGIES AT OUR LADY OF PEACE AND ST ANDREW’S
It has been exceptionally good having Parishioners back in Church for Mass these past eleven weeks. Thank you to our amazing volunteers who have made this possible.
We can confirm that gathering in the Church for public worship and private prayers IS NOT affected by the recent restrictions announced by the Prime Minister, limiting gatherings to not more than six persons.
However, during any public celebration of liturgies, we will continue, to the best of our ability, to put in place measures to ensure everyone’s safety. Leaflets explaining these safety measures are available in the Church. Weekend Mass times remain as follows:

BISHOP DAVID’S WEBINARS: On 5th August Pope Francis called on the Church to reflect on our current situation. In response, the diocesan Pastoral Ministry Office is hosting a series of online webinars on Monday evenings through the autumn. We begin on 21st September with Bishop David reflecting on the last six months and posing some key questions as we go forward. Other topics include reaching out to the needy, building community, prayer and spirituality, and catechesis. The webinars are free to attend, but you will need to register to receive the web link. LET IT BE DONE UNTO ME To learn more about Mary and how we can engage with her on a more profound level, we are delighted to launch a very inspiring course called ‘Let it Be’, which aims to illuminate and empower us to grow ever deeper in this vital aspect of our faith. Consisting of 5 sessions it takes place over Zoom with each session lasting no more than 90 minutes. Course begins – Thursday 24th September, 7.30pm and ends on Thursday 22nd October. MARY IN THE BIBLE: BIBLICAL ANSWERS TO SOME QUESTIONS This recent publication on Mary by Rev Fr (Prof) Anthony Umoren, MSP covers most questions whose answers every believer and non-believer alike ought to know about Mary and it’s a must read. This book will be a great supplement to the Mary Course and a great inspiration in this Year of the Word. It is available in the parish for £11. Currently it’s sold out on Amazon. You can get your copies after Mass or from the Parish office.
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE PARISH WEBSITE OR WEEKLY NEWSLETTER can be sent to Yvonne. Items on paper and print are also accepted and can be given to Yvonne or Fr Joseph, or delivered to the Presbytery. The deadline for items for the printed bulletin is Thursday 12 noon.

FINANCES We are extremely grateful not only for your financially support but also to the volunteers who help in so many ways for the Church to remain open for Masses and for private prayer. Your valued ongoing support to the Parish can also be made through the following options:
- Donating by phone: ‘Giving Tuesday’ – Telephone Donation In addition to the online donation facilities currently available, the Diocese has begun a ‘Giving Tuesday’. Each Tuesday between 10:00am and 4:00pm, you can call this number, 01604 712065, and donate to your parish.
- Online Donation We have an online donation facility on our main Diocesan website through Virgin Money giving (link below). If you use this option, we ask that you please indicate in the notes section which parish, including the parish name that you would like your donation to be attributed to. Please note that there is the facility to Gift Aid any donation to your Parish: northamptondiocese.org/donate/
- Standing Order via donor’s own bank: You can set up a standing order for donations to your parish using either your online bank account or in branch. You can also make a one-off payment to the parish. The information required to make the donation is as follows:

There are two sides/sheets to this form, it should be printed, completed, signed and returned to our Parish office, we will then forward to central offices at Bishop’s House for processing at a later date. Please remember to state which parish this standing is for i.e. ‘For the benefit of Our Lady of Peace, Slough Parish’ section at the top of the form. Banks will require 7 working days from receipt of these forms to activate the request so please ensure the start date reflects this 7 day period to ensure the S.O. can take effect. - There is also a donation box in Our Lady of Peace for Mass intentions, offertory, donations, etc.
