SEASON OF CREATION The month of September, until the 4th of October, the memorial of St Francis of Assisi, is a worldwide ecumenical celebration of the Season of Creation. The Pontifical Council for the Environment, supported by Pope Francis and promoted by our Bishop David, asks each person to undergo ecological conversion through intentional prayer, reflections, and practices on care for the earth our common home. This includes looking after our environment and taking actions ourselves to live simply, to reuse, recycle and to limit our use of plastics in our everyday lives all throughout the year.
MONTHLY PARISH ROSARY Our monthly parish Rosary will be held on 13th September at 7.30pm. If you would like to join us on Zoom, please email Cedrica: cedricalobo[AT]yahoo.co.uk
CONFESSION Confessions will be held at 5.15pm on Saturday in Our Lady of Peace and on request.
BAPTISM & MARRIAGE On request.
CONFIRMATION classes have resumed with a view to welcoming Bishop David to the Confirmation Mass taking place on Sunday 25th October at 2.00pm. Meetings will take place inside the Church. Parents and Candidates have been informed of the safety guidelines and procedures. It was great meeting again with our young people. We would like to thank our dedicated Catechists and parents who have made this possible.
VISIT TO THOSE SHIELDING, SICK AND HOUSEBOUND Fr Joseph would like to visit those shielding, the sick and housebound and would appreciate any information about those who might require a visit.
RESUMPTION OF PUBLIC LITURGIES AT OUR LADY OF PEACE AND ST ANDREW’S
It has been exceptionally good having Parishioners back in Church for Mass these past ten weeks. Thank you to our amazing volunteers who have made this possible.
We can confirm that gathering in the Church for public worship and private prayers IS NOT affected by the recent restrictions announced by Prime Minister, limiting gatherings to not more than six persons.
However, during any public celebration of liturgies, we will continue, to the best of our ability, to put in place measures to ensure everyone’s safety. Leaflets explaining these safety measures are available in the Church. Weekend Mass times remain as follows:
