PARISH OFFICE Yvonne has returned to her duties as Parish Secretary, albeit working from home. Yvonne will be working two days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am to 2.00pm, until further notice. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION Celebration of First Holy Communion Masses is now scheduled for Saturday, 12th September at 11.00am, and Saturday, 19th September at 11.00am and 2.00pm. A rehearsal will be held with Holy Communicants and their parents at 6.00pm and 7.00pm on Friday, 11th September. Parents have been contacted with details of the time and date for their child’s Mass, and the time slot to attend the rehearsal.
Our thanks to the Team who prepared the children for First Holy Communion and are putting in lots of shifts to organise these Masses for our children.
CONFIRMATION We will be restarting confirmation classes from Tuesday 8th September 7.00pm – 8.30pm with a view to welcoming Bishop David to the Confirmation Mass taking place on Sunday 25th October at 2.00pm. Meetings will take place inside the Church. Parents and Candidates have been informed of the safety guidelines and procedures. We look forward to meeting again with our young people. We would like to thank our dedicated Catechists and parents who have made this possible.
CONFESSION Confessions will be held at 5.15pm on Saturday in Our Lady of Peace and on request.
BAPTISM & MARRIAGE On request.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION FOR NEXT YEAR: Information on when registration will open for First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion and Confirmation will be made available from November 2020.
RESUMPTION OF PUBLIC LITURGIES AT OUR LADY OF PEACE AND ST ANDREW’S
It has been exceptionally good having Parishioners back in Church for Mass these past nine weeks. Thank you to our amazing volunteers who have made this possible.
We are now able to rebook previously cancelled or postponed bookings and take new bookings and enquiries for Baptisms, wedding, anniversary celebrations, etc. Please telephone or email the Parish office for these and other enquiries. We have now scheduled dates for First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Updates on celebration of RCIA will follow in due course.
During any public celebration of liturgies, we will continue, to the best of our ability, to put in place measures to ensure everyone’s safety. Leaflets explaining these safety measures are available in the Church. Weekend Mass times remain as follows:

Public Mass Downloads:
VISIT TO THOSE SHIELDING, SICK AND HOUSEBOUND Fr Joe would like to visit those shielding, the sick and housebound. He would appreciate any information about those who might require a visit from the parish priest.
MASS BOOKINGS If you wish to book any Masses, the intentions can be dropped off at the Presbytery, placed in the donation box or basket in the Church or given to the stewards or Fr Joseph. You can still make a request for Masses by email frjosephudoh[AT]northamptondiocese.org and telephone.
BISHOP DAVID’S WEBINARS: On 5th August Pope Francis called on the Church to reflect on our current situation. In response, the diocesan Pastoral Ministry Office is hosting a series of online webinars on Monday evenings through the autumn. We begin on 21st September with Bishop David reflecting on the last six months and posing some key questions as we go forward. Other topics include reaching out to the needy, building community, prayer and spirituality, and catechesis. The webinars are free to attend, but you will need to register to receive the web link. SEASON OF CREATION: The month of September, until the 4th of October, the memorial of St Francis of Assisi, is a worldwide ecumenical celebration of the Season of Creation. The Pontifical Council for the Environment, supported by Pope Francis and promoted by our Bishop David, asks each person to undergo ecological conversion through intentional prayer, reflections, and practices on care for the earth our common home. This includes looking after our environment and taking actions ourselves to live simply, to reuse, recycle and to limit our use of plastics in our everyday lives all throughout the year.

FINANCES We are extremely grateful not only for your financially support but also to the volunteers who help in so many ways for the Church to remain open for Masses and for private prayer. Your valued ongoing support to the Parish can also be made through the following options:
- Donating by phone: ‘Giving Tuesday’ – Telephone Donation In addition to the online donation facilities currently available, the Diocese has begun a ‘Giving Tuesday’. Each Tuesday between 10:00am and 4:00pm, you can call this number, 01604 712065, and donate to your parish.
- Online Donation We have an online donation facility on our main Diocesan website through Virgin Money giving (link below). If you use this option, we ask that you please indicate in the notes section which parish, including the parish name that you would like your donation to be attributed to. Please note that there is the facility to Gift Aid any donation to your Parish: northamptondiocese.org/donate/
- Standing Order via donor’s own bank: You can set up a standing order for donations to your parish using either your online bank account or in branch. You can also make a one-off payment to the parish. The information required to make the donation is as follows:

There are two sides/sheets to this form, it should be printed, completed, signed and returned to our Parish office, we will then forward to central offices at Bishop’s House for processing at a later date. Please remember to state which parish this standing is for i.e. ‘For the benefit of Our Lady of Peace, Slough Parish’ section at the top of the form. Banks will require 7 working days from receipt of these forms to activate the request so please ensure the start date reflects this 7 day period to ensure the S.O. can take effect. - There is also a donation box in Our Lady of Peace for Mass intentions, offertory, donations, etc.
