COVID – 19 CORONAVIRUS The Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales have advised us to carry out the following procedures in the wake of the virus. Everyone attending Mass to sanitize their hands as they enter the Church, using the sanitized gel dispensers; Communion will be under one kind, Holy Communion to be received on the palm of the hand; suspend the physical sign of peace; Holy Water stoups to be removed.
DECEASED Please pray for Isabella McGlynn RIP, who died last week, her Requiem Mass will be on Monday, 16th March at 11.00am in Our Lady of Peace, followed by committal at Slough Crematorium. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.
EARLY MORNING MASSES DURING LENT There will be 7.15am Mass in the Chapel at St Bernard’s School on each Friday during Lent, the next Mass is on Friday, 13th March.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be celebrated during Lent as follows:
• Each Monday in Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
• Each Thursday in St Andrew’s Church after 9.30am Mass.
• Each Friday in Our Lady of Peace at 7.30pm.
RETIRING COLLECTION FOR THE POOR will be taken at Stations of the Cross.
LENTEN LUNCHES : THE CWL AND TRUSTEES OF ST ANDREW’S are holding Lenten lunches on Tuesdays at 12.30pm in St Andrew’s. The next one is on Tuesday, 10th March. Do come along and have some soup and a chat, bring your friends.
WE WELCOME the children from Class 5SS who are joining us at the 9.30am Mass on Tuesday.
WALK WITH ME books, a Lenten Journey of Prayer through Lent, are available in the Church porches, priced £1.
CAFOD LENT FAST DAY Retiring collection this weekend. Please place your envelopes in the collection bags.
CATHOLIC NEWSPAPERS If you would still like to purchase one of the weekly Catholic Newspapers, please advise Yvonne, as we now have to subscribe and will be charged for any leftover papers.
DEBIT CARD found in the Church last week, please claim from Yvonne.
DEFIBRILLATOR the Defibrillator will be placed on the bench outside the Sacristy should the need arise to use it during daily and weekend Masses. After Masses it will be stored safely in the Sacristy.
GIFT AID OFFERTORY ENVELOPES If you currently use envelopes, the new envelopes from April 2020 are available, they can be found on the table at the back of Our Lady of Peace Church. If you are a UK taxpayer, you could add 25p to every £1 that you give to your Parish (at no cost to yourself) through Gift Aid. If you would like to make your offering through the envelope system then please contact Yvonne, or if you require any further information please ring Yvonne on 01628 605764 or email using this link.
MISSIO Would all Red Box holders kindly bring their Boxes which have been delayed over the Christmas period. New Boxes will be prepared immediately to last until this coming December 2020. Please bring your box at the earliest opportunity so that the transition will be as smooth as possible. You may bring your box to any Mass during the week but please be sure to leave it with a known person who will ensure its security. New boxes will be sent out in a bacteria clean condition. Your Spring copy of the Missio magazine will be attached. Many thanks for your anticipated urgency.

REJOICE IN MOTHERHOOD : MOTHERS PRAYERS For Mothers who wish to pray together for their children and grandchildren – Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties! Please come and join us as we pray for our children in Our Lady of Peace Church at 10.30am on Thursdays. Please feel free to request prayers for family and friends. There is a ‘Mothers Prayers’ request book on the bookshelf at the side entrance to the Church.

SAFEGUARDING The Bishop has instructed that all Eucharist Ministers require to have a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check in place. If you are a commissioned Eucharist Minister, and have not had a DBS check carried out, then please contact Yvonne on 01628 605764 or by email using this link, as a matter of urgency and she will arrange for a DBS to be carried out.

If you, a relative, friend or neighbour are sick or housebound and would like to receive Holy Communion please ring Maura.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Joseph or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE PARISH WEBSITE OR WEEKLY NEWSLETTER can be sent to Yvonne. Items on paper and print are also accepted and can be given to Yvonne using this link, or Fr Joseph or delivered to the Presbytery. The deadline for items for the printed bulletin is Thursday 12 noon.

THE NATIONAL NOVENA TO ST JOSEPH will take place from 10th-18th March at St Joseph’s Church, Maidenhead. Each year the Mill Hill Missionaries prepare for the Feast of St Joseph, their patron, with a special Novena of Masses and prayers to ask for God’s blessing on their Society and the missionary outreach of the Church, as well as for the intentions of all those who support their work.
All are invited to attend. Masses are as follows: Tuesday, 10th March to Friday, 13th March at 7.30pm, Saturday, 14th March at 10.00am, Sunday, 15th March at 10.45am, Monday, 16th to Wednesday, 18th March at 7.30pm.

Celebrate an evening with a traditional supper, Irish Bingo, a raffle and music by Stephen Barker, complete with a licensed bar. Tickets will be on sale from next weekend, priced £10 for adults, children under 16 free, over 16 £10, food included. The proceeds of this event will be shared equally between Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s. If you would like to donate a prize for the raffle please leave in the Presbytery or the Sacristy for Yvonne.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES The next session is on Saturday, 21st March from 9.30am – 11.00am at St Andrew’s Church, Cippenham. Please continue to pray for our children so that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.
VOCATIONS DAY The Diocese of Northampton are running a Vocations Day for men who may be thinking about the possibility of priesthood. This will take place at Holy Family Church, Luton, LU3 3TA, on Saturday, 21st March 2020, 10.00am to 4.00pm.

WORDFEST – THE GOD WHO SPEAKS Booking is now open for WordFest, our Diocesan Scripture Festival Day on 6th June at Thornton College. The day includes excellent speakers, workshops, the National Scripture Tour, Rise Theatre and CJM music, and will be an inspiring and engaging day for families, readers, catechists, musicians, and everyone!
