FR JOSEPH thanks the Parishioners for adjusting to 9.30am Mass.
THIS SUNDAY IS REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY and we pray for the repose of the souls of those whose lives, in world wars and conflicts past and present, have been given and taken away. We pray in particular for the servicemen and women who have died in the service of their fellow citizens and for their bereaved families.
SICK & RETIRED PRIESTS’ FUND there will be a retiring collection next weekend for the Sick and Retired Priests’ Fund.
HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November.
BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please do not write in the book.

WE WELCOME the children from 6RG Class of Our Lady of Peace Primary & Nursery School who will be joining us at the 9.30am Mass on Tuesday.
ROSARY FOR HOLY SOULS will be prayed on Thursdays during November after 9.30am Mass in St Andrew’s.
DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET is prayed each Sunday at 11.20am, before Mass in St Andrew’s for Priests.
ADORATION of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass. Also prior to the 9.30am Mass on Sundays, after the reflection, please maintain silence.
ST JOHN HENRY NEWMAN Prayer cards are available in the Church porches, priced 50p each.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD Liturgy of the Word for Children will return this Sunday 10th November at 9.30am Mass. Liturgy of the Word for Children is aimed at children aged 4-7 years old (reception to year 3) therefore the prayers, readings and discussion reflect that of the Liturgy of the Word in Mass but a simplified version with this age group in. We would love more leaders to help us! If you would like more information please see Lisa, Evka or Laurent after Mass.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL Following the recent Parish Council meeting, it has been agreed that we will start with four new Focus groups. These will be set up to help organise and manage key activities for the parish. Invitations to join the groups are open to all. Please return the flyer with your details.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2020 If your child is in Year 3 or above, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in June 2020 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The deadline date for any enrolments is this Sunday, 10th November. Any latecomers after the final date will have to wait until 2021. Please contact Yvonne in the Parish office via email using this link to arrange an appointment to enrol your child. First Holy Communion classes will begin in February 2020 and will be held in St Andrew’s on Saturday mornings.
ARE YOU THINKING OF BECOMING A CATHOLIC? A new course for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church will begin in November. Please contact Fr Joseph for more information either after Mass or on 01628 605764.
CONFIRMATION 2020 programme for Year 9 students or above will begin in December, with Confirmation by Bishop Peter expected to be in June 2020. Please let Fr Joseph know if you would like to be Confirmed by writing to him wishing to join the Confirmation programme, deadline will be next Saturday 16th November 2019.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Joseph or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
IN OUR PARISH Yvonne Cafferty, is our Parish Safeguarding Representative. Maura Potter, is our Pastoral Coordinator for the sick and housebound, email Maura using this link or telephone 01628 666278. If you, a relative, friend or neighbour are sick or house bound and would like to receive Holy Communion please ring Maura on 01628 666278. If you are a commissioned Eucharist Minister and would be willing to join the team who take Communion to our sick and housebound parishioners then please contact Yvonne.
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE PARISH WEBSITE/WEEKLY NEWSLETTER can be sent to Yvonne. Items on paper and print are also accepted and can be given to Yvonne or Fr Joseph or delivered to the Presbytery. The deadline for items for the printed bulletin is Thursday 12 noon.

The Parish Council meeting which was scheduled for Monday, 11th November has been cancelled.
QUIZ NIGHT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR ST JOSEPH’S MISSION 2 THAI On 15th November, St Joseph’s Mission2Thai students will be holding a Quiz Night at Slough Irish Club, from 6.00pm until late, to fundraise for a volunteering trip to Thailand where they will be helping with the Fr Ray Foundation, which is a Christian charity out there. They will be helping children with HIV/AIDs, blind and deaf children and other orphanages. The tickets for the Quiz Night are £5 each, including food. There will also be a raffle with lots of prizes to win, such as food hampers, meals out, gym memberships and family activities. If you would like to purchase a ticket or make a donation please contact Yvonne in the Parish Office. All the proceeds will go towards the trip.

CAFOD Each November, Memorial Masses are held across England and Wales in remembrance of CAFOD supporters and loved ones who have died. This is a time to come together and reflect on the lasting impact our loved ones have had in our world. We pray they find peace and that we can continue their legacy of love in their memory.
A Memorial Mass will be held on 17th November at 11.00am Mass, at St Augustine, 24 Amersham Hill, High Wycombe, HP13 6NZ. SPIRIT AND LIGHT WORSHIP EVENING at St Andrew’s on Friday, 22nd November at 7.30pm. These evenings will be led by Fr Joseph and involve praise and worship in the Presence of the Blessed Sacrament, together with gentle prayer ministry where we invite the Holy Spirit to come to bless us. ST ANDREWS TRUSTEES are having a bottle tombola at the St Andrew’s Xmas Fayre on Saturday, 7th December to raise funds for the upkeep of St Andrew’s. PARISH FAMILY DANCE A Dance to raise funds for our Parish will be held in Slough Irish Club on Friday, 13th December from 8.00pm. Music by Chris Ball with dancing from 9.00pm until Midnight. Tickets priced £5, will be on sale over the next couple of weeks at most Masses. If you are able to donate a prize for the raffle please give to Yvonne in the Parish Office.
