BISHOP’S MAINTENANCE FUND there will be a retiring collection this weekend for the Bishop’s Maintenance Fund.
HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November.
BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please do not write in the book.

ST ANDREW’S Angeline (a St Andrew’s Trustee) is being licensed as a Lay Minister at 11.00am on Saturday, 2nd November, at Christchurch Cathedral in Oxford. The Anglican parishioners have arranged a celebratory get together in the afternoon at St Andrew’s and invite all RC parishioners to join them.
BISHOP PETER has asked that the commissioning/re-commissioning of Readers should take place at all Masses on the weekend of 7th-8th December. Please try and come along to the Mass you normally attend.
DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET is prayed each Sunday at 11.20am, before Mass in St Andrew’s for Priests.
‘OPEN HOUSE’ Fr Joseph is holding an ‘Open House’ for Parishioners to come along and discuss any issues relating to personal, family or parish life. The next meeting will be held on Monday, 4th November, between 4.00pm and 7.00pm in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace. Please note it is a ‘drop in’ session. Be prepared to wait your turn.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD There will be no Liturgy of the Word for Children this Sunday due to the half term break. We will return on Sunday 10th November at 9.30am Mass. Liturgy of the Word for Children is aimed at children aged 4-7 years old (reception to year 3) therefore the prayers, readings and discussion reflect that of the Liturgy of the Word in Mass but a simplified version with this age group in. We would love more leaders to help us! If you would like more information please see Lisa, Evka or Laurent after Mass.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL Following the recent Parish Council meeting, it has been agreed that we will start with four new Focus groups. These will be set up to help organise and manage key activities for the parish. Invitations to join the groups are open to all. Please return the flyer with your details.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2020 If your child is in Year 3 or above, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in June 2020 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The deadline date for any enrolments is Sunday, 10th November. Please contact Yvonne in the Parish office on 01628 605764, or via email using this link to arrange an appointment to register your child. Parents will need to complete an enrolment form.
If your child was Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate, if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain a copy before registering. The maximum amount of children we can take is 88, if we reach that number by the deadline then any latecomers will have to wait until 2021. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in February 2020 and will be held in St Andrew’s on Saturday mornings.
ARE YOU THINKING OF BECOMING A CATHOLIC? A new course for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church will begin in November. Please contact Fr Joseph for more information either after Mass or on 01628 605764.
CONFIRMATION 2020 programme for Year 9 students or above will begin in December, with Confirmation by Bishop Peter expected to be in June 2020. Please let Fr Joseph know if you would like to be Confirmed by writing to him wishing to join the Confirmation programme, deadline will be 16th November 2019.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Joseph or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.

If you, a relative, friend or neighbour are sick or house bound and would like to receive Holy Communion please ring Maura on 01628 666278. If you are a commissioned Eucharist Minister and would be willing to join the team who take Communion to our sick and housebound parishioners then please contact Yvonne.
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE PARISH WEBSITE/WEEKLY NEWSLETTER can be sent to Yvonne. Items on paper and print are also accepted and can be given to Yvonne or Fr Joseph or delivered to the Presbytery. The deadline for items for the printed bulletin is Thursday 12 noon.

QUIZ NIGHT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR ST JOSEPH’S MISSION 2 THAI On 15th November, St Joseph’s Mission2Thai students will be holding a Quiz Night at Slough Irish Club, from 6.00pm until late, to fundraise for a volunteering trip to Thailand where they will be helping with the Fr Ray Foundation, which is a Christian charity out there. They will be helping children with HIV/AIDs, blind and deaf children and other orphanages. The tickets for the Quiz Night are £5 each, including food. There will also be a raffle with lots of prizes to win, such as food hampers, meals out, gym memberships and family activities. If you would like to purchase a ticket or make a donation please contact Yvonne in the Parish Office. All the proceeds will go towards the trip.

There is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass.
Morning Prayer is prayed before every weekday Mass, and the Rosary is prayed after Mass. We are encouraged to pray the Rosary, especially in October the Extraordinary Month of Mission. All are welcome to join us.
