CHANGE OF MASS TIME with effect from next Sunday, 3rd November the 9.45am Sunday Mass will be changing to 9.30am.
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY This Sunday we will be holding a retiring collection for World Mission Sunday, which was celebrated last weekend. As Fr John Garry from the St Patrick’s Missionary Society was with us last weekend holding an appeal, we had to move the World Mission Sunday collection to this weekend. Please support Missio in helping missionaries to work alongside communities throughout the world that are poor or in need. You will be able to Gift Aid your donations by using the envelopes provided by Missio which can be found in the Church porches.

BISHOP’S MAINTENANCE FUND there will be a retiring collection next weekend for the Bishop’s Maintenance Fund.
FEAST OF ALL SAINTS : HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION Friday, 1st November the Church celebrates the Feast of All Saints (in old English ‘All Hallows’ – from which the term ‘Halloween’ originates – the Eve of All Hallows). The Feast honours the triumph of God’s grace in the lives of all those who are now in heaven.

ALL SOULS DAY is celebrated on the following day, Saturday, 2nd November. Here we pray for all who have died in God’s grace and friendship, but may still need our prayers as they prepare to enter into the fullness of heaven. This is why we pray and offer Masses for our deceased relatives and friends during the month of November, in particular at Mass on Saturday, 2nd November at 10.00am in Our Lady of Peace.
HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November.
BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please do not write in the book.
FIRST SATURDAY MASSES There will be 10.00am Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church on the first Saturday of each month, with 24 hours Adoration prior to the Mass. On Friday, 1st November we will have 9.30am Mass as usual, followed by 24 hours Adoration, finishing with 10.00am Mass on Saturday, 2nd November. A sign-up sheet for Adoration is on the Lectern at Our Lady of Peace.
OFFICE HOURS for Yvonne will now be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9.00am and 2.00pm.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL Following the recent Parish Council meeting, it has been agreed that we will start with four new Focus groups. These will be set up to help organise and manage key activities for the parish. Invitations to join the groups are open to all. Please return the flyer with your details.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2020 If your child is in Year 3 or above, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in June 2020 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The deadline date for any enrolments is Sunday, 10th November. Please contact Yvonne in the Parish office on 01628 605764, or via email using this link to arrange an appointment to register your child. Parents will need to complete an enrolment form.
If your child was Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate, if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain a copy before registering. The maximum amount of children we can take is 88, if we reach that number by the deadline then any latecomers will have to wait until 2021. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in February 2020 and will be held in St Andrew’s on Saturday mornings.
ARE YOU THINKING OF BECOMING A CATHOLIC? A new course for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church will begin in November. Please contact Fr Joseph for more information either after Mass or on 01628 605764.
CONFIRMATION 2020 programme for Year 9 students or above will begin in December, with Confirmation by Bishop Peter expected to be in June 2020. Please let Fr Joseph know if you would like to be Confirmed by writing to him wishing to join the Confirmation programme, deadline will be 16th November 2019.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Joseph or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.

If you, a relative, friend or neighbour are sick or house bound and would like to receive Holy Communion please ring Maura on 01628 666278. If you are a commissioned Eucharist Minister and would be willing to join the team who take Communion to our sick and housebound parishioners then please contact Yvonne.

There is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass.
Morning Prayer is prayed before every weekday Mass, and the Rosary is prayed after Mass. We are encouraged to pray the Rosary, especially in October the Extraordinary Month of Mission. All are welcome to join us.
