WORLD MISSION SUNDAY : 27TH OCTOBER Next Sunday is World Mission Sunday, when the Holy Father invites all Catholics to contribute to a special collection for Missio, his charity for world mission. Please support Missio in helping missionaries to work alongside communities throughout the world that are poor or in need, regardless of their background or belief. Join in on this special day, that unites Catholics all over the world in prayer and celebration of our Church’s mission to share God’s love with all creation – ‘Together we are Mission’. You will be able to Gift Aid your donations by using the envelopes provided by Missio which can be found in the Church porches.

🕤 CHANGE OF MASS TIME with effect from Sunday, 3rd November the 9.45am Sunday Mass will be changing to 9.30am, this enables Fr Joseph to be able to speak to people after Mass before rushing down to St Andrew’s for the 11.30am Mass.
BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please do not write in the book.
HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November.

MARY’S MEALS A very big ‘thank you’ to Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s for allowing Mary’s Meals to hold a Rags to Riches collection last Sunday. The parish managed to give 585 kg of unwanted clothes; there were also cash donations of £365.16 making a total contribution of £692.76. Mary’s Meals are very grateful for our support – this is an excellent result! The amount raised will feed 49 children who will not only get fed one good, nutritious meal every school day for a whole year, but they will get an education too.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL Following the recent Parish Council meeting, it has been agreed that we will start with four new Focus groups. These will be set up to help organise and manage key activities for the parish. Invitations to join the groups are open to all. Please return the flyer with your details.
‘OPEN HOUSE’ Fr Joseph is holding an ‘Open House’ for Parishioners to come along and discuss any issues relating to personal, family or parish life. These will be held on Monday evenings between 4.00pm and 7.00pm in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace. The first of these meetings will be held on Monday, 21st October.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2020 If your child is in Year 3 or above, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in June 2020 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The deadline date for any enrolments is Sunday, 10th November. Please contact Yvonne in the Parish office on 01628 605764, or via email using this link to arrange an appointment to register your child. Parents will need to complete an enrolment form.
If your child was Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate, if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain a copy before registering. The maximum amount of children we can take is 88, if we reach that number by the deadline then any latecomers will have to wait until 2021. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in February 2020 and will be held in St Andrew’s on Saturday mornings.
ARE YOU THINKING OF BECOMING A CATHOLIC? A new course for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church will begin in November. Please contact Fr Joseph for more information either after Mass or on 01628 605764.
CONFIRMATION 2020 programme for Year 9 students or above will begin in December, with Confirmation by Bishop Peter expected to be in June 2020. Please let Fr Joseph know if you would like to be Confirmed by writing to him wishing to join the Confirmation programme, deadline will be 16th November 2019.

YOUR CHOIR NEEDS YOU! Our Lady of Peace choir (now in its 8th year), and St Andrew’s choir, are now recruiting. If you would like to join a very friendly and supportive group and sing for joy, we would be delighted to welcome you any Monday evening at 7.00pm in St Andrew’s or Tuesday evening at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace Church.
Please do not worry if you think you cannot sing. All are welcome and the more the merrier. We need more people now, especially as we prepare for Christmas. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask a member of the choir on Sundays, either after the 9.45am or 11.30am Mass. We look forward to welcoming you!
DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET is prayed each Sunday at 11.25am, before Mass in St Andrew’s for Priests.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Joseph or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.

SPIRIT AND LIGHT WORSHIP EVENING at St Andrew’s on Friday, 25th October at 7.30pm. CHRISTMAS CARDS Mary McCarthy will be selling Christmas Cards at St Andrew’s after 11.30am Mass on Sunday, 27th October. Proceeds towards St Gilbert’s Mission project.
ADORATION of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament will be held at St Andrew’s Church, on Thursday, 31st October, beginning with the Vigil Mass of All Saints at 7.00pm, with adoration to midnight, to pray for families and our young people. All welcome to join.

EAT WELL SPEND LESS a free 6 week course designed to tech basic cooking and budgeting skills. Open to anyone who manages their own budget and cooks for themselves and/or their family. There is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass.
Morning Prayer is prayed before every weekday Mass, and the Rosary is prayed after Mass. We are encouraged to pray the Rosary, especially in October the Extraordinary Month of Mission. All are welcome to join us.
