EDUCATION WEEK Our Lady of Peace Primary & Nursery School are leading the Liturgy at the 9.45am Mass this Sunday.
ST PATRICK’S MISSIONARY SOCIETY will be holding an appeal next weekend, 19th – 20th October. Fr John Garry will be visiting our parish on behalf of the St Patrick’s Society. Gift Aid envelopes will be available in the porches. Please be as generous as you can.
MARY’S MEALS will be at our Church THIS WEEKEND to take away your unwanted clothing and bedding. Mary’s Meals feeds children one good meal every day at school in 18 countries. Because of their low costs they can do this for as little as £13.90 per child per year!
PARISH MASS COUNT ‘Week Four’ of our annual Mass count this weekend.
CHANGE OF MASS TIME It was agreed with effect from Sunday, 3rd November the 9.45am Sunday Mass will be changing to 9.30am, this enables Fr Joseph to be able to speak to people after Mass before rushing down to St Andrew’s for the 11.30am Mass.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CATHOLIC PRIMARY & NURSERY SCHOOL KS2 Mass at 10.45am on Thursday, 17th October. All invited.
ADORATION of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass. Also prior to the 9.45am Mass on Sundays, after the reflection, please maintain silence.

BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please do not write in the book.
HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November.
DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET is prayed each Sunday at 11.25am, before Mass in St Andrew’s for Priests.
OFFICE HOURS for Yvonne will now be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9.00am and 2.00pm.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL Following the recent Parish Council meeting, it has been agreed that we will start with four new Focus groups. These will be set up to help organise and manage key activities for the parish. Invitations to join the groups are open to all. Please see the attached flyer for details.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2020 If your child is in Year 3 or above, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in June 2020 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in February 2020 and will be held at St Andrew’s on Saturday mornings.
The second enrolment date will be Tuesday, 15th October between 6.30pm and 7.00pm. This will be held in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Parents will need to complete an enrolment form which will be available on the enrolment date. The maximum amount of children we can take is 88, if we reach that number by Sunday, 10th November which will be the deadline date for any enrolments, then any latecomers will have to wait until 2021.
If your child was Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment meeting.
ARE YOU THINKING OF BECOMING A CATHOLIC? A new course for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church will begin in November. Please contact Fr Joseph for more information either after Mass or on 01628 605764.
CONFIRMATION 2020 programme for Year 9 students or above will begin in December, with Confirmation by Bishop Peter expected to be in June 2020. Please let Fr Joseph know if you would like to be Confirmed by writing to him wishing to join the Confirmation programme, deadline will be 16th November 2019.
YOUR CHOIR NEEDS YOU! Our Lady of Peace choir (now in its 8th year) is recruiting. If you would like to join a very friendly and supportive group and sing for joy, we would be delighted to welcome you any Tuesday evening at 7.30pm in the Church. Please do not worry if you think you cannot sing. All are welcome and the more the merrier. We need more people now, especially as we prepare for Christmas. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask a member of the choir on Sundays. We look forward to welcoming you!

REJOICE IN MOTHERHOOD: MOTHERS PRAYERS For Mothers who wish to pray together for their children and grandchildren – Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties! Please come and join us as we pray for our children, Our Lady of Peace Church at 10.30am on Thursdays. Please feel free to request prayers for family and friends. There is a ‘Mothers Prayers’ request book on the bookshelf at the side entrance to the Church.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Joseph or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.

SPIRIT AND LIGHT WORSHIP EVENING at St Andrew’s on Friday, 25th October at 7.30pm. These evenings will be led by Fr Joseph and involve praise and worship in the Presence of the Blessed Sacrament, together with gentle prayer ministry where we invite the Holy Spirit to come to bless us. CHRISTMAS CARDS Mary McCarthy will be selling Christmas Cards at St Andrew’s after 11.30am Mass on Sunday, 27th October. Proceeds towards St Gilbert’s Mission project.
ADORATION of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament will be held at St Andrew’s Church, on Thursday, 31st October, beginning with the Vigil Mass of All Saints at 7.00pm, with adoration to midnight, to pray for families and our young people. All welcome to join.

DAY OF REFLECTION. A day of reflection, inspiration, and prayer for all in ministry to the sick, whether in homes, hospitals or care homes.
