MASS CHANGE Mass on Monday, 6th May will be at 10.00am, not at 9.30am.
MANY THANKS for your very generous Easter collection, and for all the cards and gifts. Thank you also for all the support, kindness and generosity you have shown to both Fr Emmanuel and I throughout the year, and to all those who have helped in the Parish in varying jobs and ministries, especially over the Easter period.
Special thanks to Deacon Paul and Deacon Marek; our Sacristans Denise and John; the altar servers; our musicians and choir; the Youth Evangelisation Team; the Church cleaners; the flower ladies; the Tea/Coffee team who are there after the 9.45am Mass each week, the Catechists who work with the First Holy Communion and Confirmation groups, to the people who are on the Board of St Andrew’s Trust, the readers; the extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion; the collectors; parish welcomers/ushers; the team of counters; the CWL, the SVP, our Parish Pastoral Council and Evangelisation Team, to John Behan and Sunday for their hard work in the presbytery garden, and to Yvonne, the parish secretary, for all her hard work. DECEASED Please pray for Adrian Beckett RIP who died recently, his Funeral Service will be on Friday, 10th May at 1.30pm in Our Lady of Peace Church, followed by committal at Slough Cemetery. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am.
ADORATION of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass.
FIRST SATURDAY MASSES There will be a 10.00am Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church on the first Saturday of each month, with 24 hours adoration prior to the Mass. On Friday, 31st May we will have 9.30am Mass as usual, followed by 24 hours Adoration, finishing with 10.00am Mass on Saturday, 1st June. A sign-up sheet for Adoration is on the Lectern at Our Lady of Peace.
CAR PARKING Please note – when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available spaces. Over the next couple of weeks there will be extra cars and we ask please could everyone park considerately.
ST ANDREW’S 300 CLUB DRAWS If you wish to join the 300 Club please contact Shelagh Whitehouse on 01753 516502. Forms are available in the Church porches. Membership is £12 per year.
MY DAY BY DAY Adult, Infant and Junior Easter books, and WALK WITH ME an Eastertide Journey, are available in the Church porches, priced £1 each.
DIOCESAN DIRECTORY copies of the Northampton Diocesan Directory for 2019 are available in the Church porches priced £5 per copy.
HELP AFTER SUNDAY 9.45AM MASS We are extremely grateful to all those who help tidy the Church after the 9.45am Mass each Sunday, please keep up the good work!
CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME 2019 Session 5 of the Confirmation programme for Confirmation candidates will be on Thursday, 16th May at 7.00pm in Our Lady of Peace Sacristy.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION PROJECT will still continue raising funds. Small plastic bottles are available in the church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to Our Lady of Peace.
PARISH MASS BOOKS 📚 We are using Volume 1 of the Mass books for Year C. As with Year A and Year B, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.
If you have taken one of the Parish Mass books home by accident, please could you return it as soon as possible.

USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
SICK & HOUSEBOUND CONTACT Maura Potter, is our Pastoral Coordinator for the sick and housebound, email Maura using this link or telephone 01628 666278. If you, a relative, friend or neighbour are sick or house bound and would like to receive Holy Communion please ring Maura on 01628 666278. If you are a commissioned Eucharist Minister and would be willing to join the team who take Communion to our sick and housebound parishioners then please contact Fr Andy.

NEW RECRUITS Calling all budding singers. The Our Lady of Peace choir is recruiting and we would be delighted to welcome anyone who would like to join. We are a very informal group, meeting once a week to practice. We work hard but we also have a lot of fun together and we are always in need of new voices. If you are interested, please do approach one of the choir after 9.45am Mass on Sunday or you can join us on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm at Our Lady of Peace. We will welcome you with open arms!

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE The CWL Burnham Section will be holding their annual World Union of Catholic Women’s Organisations (WUCWO) service on Monday, 13th May. All are welcome to join us for the service which will be held in Our Lady of Peace Church at 2.00pm. There will be tea and cake in the Sacristy afterwards.

ST ETHELBERT BIBLE STUDY GROUP under the approval of Parish Priest Fr Ray Abuga, cordially invite members of our parish for a three days Easter programme and banquet party taking place at St Ethelbert’s Parish, to immerse us in the understanding of the Resurrection and the practical benefits of the Resurrection to our daily life. It will be taking place with a workshop and a 2 days ministration by Fr Emmanuel Okami on the 31st of May to the 1st of June. MASS for victims and survivors of abuse, their families and supporters at St Mary’s in Woburn Sands at 12 noon on 12th October 2019. All victims and survivors of abuse, their families and supporters are invited to this Mass. The focus will be on healing, reconciliation and the forming of compassionate links with the Church. There will be light refreshments after the Mass.
