HAPPY EASTER to all our parishioners and clergy, and to our Anglican brothers and sisters at St Andrew’s.
DECEASED Please pray for Brendan O’Rourke RIP who died last week, Brendan’s body will be received into Our Lady of Peace Church on Monday, 29th April at 4.00pm, his Requiem Mass will be on Tuesday, 30th April at 10.00am followed by burial in Slough Cemetery. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
MASS CHANGES There will be no 9.30am Mass on Tuesday, 30th April in Our Lady of Peace, Mass will be at 10.00am and will be the Requiem Mass for Brendan O’Rourke RIP. There will be a Mass on Wednesday, 24th April at 9.30am in Our Lady of Peace.

CAR PARKING : ESPECIALLY OVER THE EASTER PERIOD AND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION MASSES Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available spaces. Over the next couple of weeks there will be extra cars and we ask please could everyone park considerately.
ADORATION On Friday, 3rd May we will have 9.30am Mass as usual, followed by 24 hours Adoration, finishing at 10.00am on Saturday, 4th May. A sign-up sheet for Adoration is on the Lectern at Our Lady of Peace.
MANY THANKS to the team who provide the tea/coffee after 9.45am Mass each Sunday for their generous donation of £250. “Thank You” to all who support them each week.

ST ANDREW’S 300 CLUB The 2019 Spring Draw for the 300 Club was held after the Mass for the Sick on 6th April. The results are as follows: 1st Prize £60. No 53 Mrs Noreen Sugrue. 2nd Prize £40. MESSAGE FROM BISHOP PETER Individual meetings for victims and survivors, families and supporters with Bishop Peter. Bishop Peter is offering to meet with victims and survivors, their families and supporters commencing from May 2019 and continuing on a bimonthly basis. DIOCESAN DIRECTORY copies of the Northampton Diocesan Directory for 2019 are available in the Church porches priced £5 per copy.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
ADORATION of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.
HELP AFTER SUNDAY 9.45AM MASS We are extremely grateful to all those who help tidy the Church after the 9.45am Mass each Sunday, please keep up the good work!
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES The next session is on Saturday, 27th April in Our Lady of Peace Church. We will be holding two separate sessions:
- For children receiving their First Holy Communion on Saturday, 4th May at 11.00am and 2.00pm – please arrive at 9.30am.
- For children receiving their First Holy Communion on Saturday, 11th May at 11.00am – please arrive at 10.30am.
This will be a rehearsal with the children, parents to stay. Please pray for our children so that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.
CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME 2019 Session 4 of the Confirmation programme for Confirmation candidates will be on Thursday, 2nd May at 7.00pm in Our Lady of Peace Sacristy.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION PROJECT will still continue raising funds. Small plastic bottles are available in the church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to Our Lady of Peace.
PARISH MASS BOOKS 📚 We are using Volume 1 of the Mass books for Year C. As with Year A and Year B, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.
If you have taken one of the Parish Mass books home by accident, please could you return it as soon as possible.

USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.

NEW RECRUITS Calling all budding singers. The Our Lady of Peace choir is recruiting and we would be delighted to welcome anyone who would like to join. We are a very informal group, meeting once a week to practice. We work hard but we also have a lot of fun together and we are always in need of new voices. It would be great if we could expand our numbers especially as we prepare for Easter. All victims and survivors of abuse, their families and supporters are invited to this Mass. The focus will be on healing, reconciliation and the forming of compassionate links with the Church.
