RESOURCES FROM PAULINE BOOKS & MEDIA The Daughters of St Paul wish to thank Parishioners for their warm welcome when they held an exhibition of their books etc a couple of weekends ago, they run an outlet in their Convent in Middle Green, Slough, SL3 6BS.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be celebrated during Lent as follows :
- Each Monday in Our Lady of Peace after Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
- Each Thursday in St Andrew’s Church after 9.30am Mass.
- Each Friday in Our Lady of Peace at 7.30pm.
ST BERNARD’S CHAPEL During Lent Mass will be celebrated on Friday mornings in the Chapel at 7.15am. Dates as follows: 22nd March and 5th April.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
ADORATION of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.
HELP AFTER SUNDAY 9.45AM MASS We are extremely grateful to all those who help tidy the Church after the 9.45am Mass each Sunday, please keep up the good work!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Please could you spare a couple of hours on Saturday, 13th April in Our Lady of Peace Church, at 9.30am to help take off the radiator covers and clean behind the radiators, the dust is causing soot marks over the walls.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSESThe next session is on Saturday,
23rd March from 9.30am – 11.00am in St Andrew’s Church, Cippenham.
Please pray for our children so that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion. There will be a limited number of First Holy Communion goods on sale.
CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME 2019 Session 3 of the Confirmation programme for Confirmation candidates will be on Thursday, 4th April at 7.00pm in Our Lady of Peace Sacristy.
ST ANDREW’S 300 CLUB The next draw will be held at the beginning of April, if you are not already a member of the 300 Club, please contact Shelagh on 01753 516502 (or complete the form on Church noticeboards) for a chance to win. Membership is £12 per year.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION PROJECT will still continue raising funds. Small plastic bottles are available in the church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to Our Lady of Peace.
PARISH MASS BOOKS 📚 We are using Volume 1 of the Mass books for Year C. As with Year A and Year B, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.
If you have taken one of the Parish Mass books home by accident, please could you return it as soon as possible.
CAR PARKING Please when using the car park at the rear of Our Lady of Peace Church please keep the middle lane clear, this provides access for an emergency vehicle if necessary. Also we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. Please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available spaces. 🚗

HOST – LENT APPEAL As we approach a time of joyful celebration in the Church calendar we ask if you might consider doing something for international relations… making a small but significant contribution towards greater understanding worldwide.
HOST’s mission is to give a welcome to international students in British homes for friendship and cultural exchange. Our volunteer hosts can offer hospitality for one day (daytime only) or three days and two nights at the weekend. Please consider becoming one of our volunteer hosts.

USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.

BREAKFAST CLUB ASSISTANT REQUIRED Hours: 7.45am – 8.45am. Our Lady of Peace Out of School Club is looking for a reliable Assistant for our Breakfast Club to start as soon as possible. We are looking for someone who is kind and sensible with the children. An NVQ2 qualification is desirable.
The successful candidate must be willing to undertake food hygiene training. The post includes:
- Assisting in the preparation of food and looking after children while they eat.
- Helping set up activities and supporting children in their play.
- Establishing good relationships with parents/carers & other members of the team.
- Keeping children safe and ensuring good behaviour.
- Assisting in clearing away & tidying the room in preparation for the start of the school day.
- Escort the children to their classrooms.

ST PATRICK’S EVENING in St Andrew’s this Saturday, 16th March from 6.30pm. Celebrate an evening with Irish Bingo, a raffle and music by Stephen Barker, complete with a licensed bar. Tickets: £10 for adults, children under 16 free, over 16 £10, food included. The proceeds of this event will be shared equally between Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s.

THE NATIONAL NOVENA TO ST JOSEPH will take place from 10th-18th March 2019 at St Joseph’s Church, Maidenhead. Each year the Mill Hill Missionaries prepare for the Feast of St Joseph, their patron, with a special Novena of Masses and prayers to ask for God’s blessing on their Society and the missionary outreach of the Church, as well as for the intentions of all those who support their work. All are invited to attend.
If you are unable to attend but would like to join in from home by praying the daily Novena prayer, you are welcome to send in your petitions and/or to request a Novena booklet. NEW RECRUITS Calling all budding singers. The Our Lady of Peace choir is recruiting and we would be delighted to welcome anyone who would like to join. We are a very informal group, meeting once a week to practice. We work hard but we also have a lot of fun together and we are always in need of new voices.
