WE WELCOME Fr Emmanuel who the Diocese has appointed to our Parish to help Fr Andy for a term of six months. Please make Fr Emmanuel feel welcome, it is the first time he has been out of his home country of Nigeria, so he has to settle into life in an English Parish and cope with our weather!
PARISH MASS COUNT we will have the second of our annual Mass counts this weekend. There will be four counts in total over consecutive weekends.
CONGRATULATIONS to Callum Baker who will be Baptised in Our Lady of Peace on Saturday, 13th October. Please pray for his parents, Grandparents and Godparents.
DECEASED Please pray for Rosina Thomas who died recently, her Funeral Service will be on Friday, 12th October in Our Lady of Peace at 1.45pm followed by burial at Slough Cemetery. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.

EDUCATION WEEK 8th – 14th October. Next Sunday, 14th October Our Lady of Peace School will be showing a Powerpoint presentation for Education week at the 9.45am Mass. Please keep our Schools in your prayers.
PRISONERS’ SUNDAY Next weekend, 14th October, is Prisoners’ Sunday. There are prayer cards and posters available in the Church porches. Please join them in support of prisoners and their families by keeping them in Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ. You have come so that we may have life to the full, listen to our prayers for all in prison and their families, touched by your Spirit, may they find newness of heart and be open to that new life that is found only in you. May they know care, and receive support from those around them. May they find new purpose in serving you in their brothers and sisters. Amen.
PLEASE COLLECT! There is a selection of plates, bowls, serving spoons, knives and trays which were left after Fr Simon’s leaving party. Please collect from the Presbytery if they belong to you.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2019 If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in May 2019 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in January 2019 and will be held at St Andrew’s on Saturday mornings.
The first enrolment date will be on Wednesday, 10th October between 3.30pm and 5.00pm, the second enrolment date will be Tuesday, 16th October between 7.00pm and 7.30pm. They will both be held in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace Church.
Parents will need to complete an enrolment form which will be available on the enrolment date. The maximum amount of children we can take is 88, if we reach that number by Sunday, 11th November which will be the deadline date for any enrolments, then any latecomers will have to wait until 2020.
If your child was Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment meeting.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK There is a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church.
ADORATION of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.

HELP AFTER SUNDAY 9.45AM MASS Thank you to all who help tidy the Church after the 9.45am Mass each weekend. Please try and spare 15 minutes to help, all that is needed is to collect the Hymn and Parish Mass books and place them back in the bookshelves, and to clear any Bulletins/papers and rubbish lying around.

CHRISTMAS CARDS Mary McCarthy will be selling Christmas Cards after the 6.00pm Vigil Mass on Saturday, 6th October and 9.45am Mass on Sunday, 7th October at Our Lady of Peace, and at St Andrew’s after 11.30am Mass on Sunday, 28th October. Proceeds towards St Gilbert’s Mission project.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION Small plastic bottles are available in the Church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to either St Gilbert’s or Our Lady of Peace.
GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) YOUR ACTION IS NEEDED! new data protection legislation came into force in the UK on 25th May 2018. It governs how personal data is processed and we as a Parish now need to obtain your informed consent to continue to use your personal data in our Parish. A copy of our Data Privacy Notice is available here on the Parish website. Consent forms can be found in the Church porches, we ask that these are returned to the Presbytery, as soon as possible. A separate Consent Form is required for each adult within each family. If you have any questions, please contact the Parish office.
PARISH MASS BOOKS 📚 We are using Volume 2 of the Mass books for Year B. As with Year A and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.
If you have taken one of the Parish Mass books home by accident, please could you return it as soon as possible.
CAR PARKING Please when using the car park at the rear of Our Lady of Peace Church please keep the middle lane clear, this provides access for an emergency vehicle if necessary. Also we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. 🚗

USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
