DECEASED Please pray for Michael John Dilley RIP who died recently, his Funeral Service will be on Monday, 23rd July at 11.00am in Our Lady of Peace, followed by burial at Parkside Cemetery. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK Instead of publishing a list of the sick of the Parish in the Bulletin (and online) each week, we will be using a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with new Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church.

SEA SUNDAY Today is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Without them we would not have most of the items we buy in the shops. Today’s retiring collection is for Apostleship of the Sea (AoS), the Church’s official maritime welfare agency. It supports seafarers both practically and spiritually. This collection is vital to enable it to continue its work, so please give generously and remember seafarers in your prayers. Thank you. CAR PARKING Please when using the car park at the rear of Our Lady of Peace Church please keep the middle lane clear, this provides access for an emergency vehicle if necessary. Also we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. 🚗

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) YOUR ACTION IS NEEDED! new data protection legislation came into force in the UK on 25th May 2018. It governs how personal data is processed and we as a Parish now need to obtain your informed consent to continue to use your personal data in our Parish. A copy of our Data Privacy Notice is available here on the Parish website. Consent forms can be found in the Church porches, we ask that these are returned to the Presbytery, as soon as possible. OUR LADY OF PEACE CHILDREN’S LITURGY 9.45AM MASS All children aged 4-8 years (School Reception to year 3) are warmly invited to come along and listen to the Gospel especially adapted for this age group, with reflection and prayer time. Children who have made their First Holy Communion are encouraged to remain in the main Mass.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.

USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION Small plastic bottles are available in the Church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to either St Gilbert’s or Our Lady of Peace.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS 📚 We are using Volume 2 of the Mass books for Year B. As with Year A and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.

ST ETHELBERT’S MEMORIAL MASS Fr Clemente was the first Parish Priest in Slough. This year marks the centenary of his death (he passed away on 17th July 1918), and he is buried in St Mary’s Church Cemetery, Slough. St Ethelbert’s being the Mother Church of all the Parishes in Slough is organising a Memorial Mass for him on Saturday, 14th July at 12.00 noon in St Ethelbert’s. They are inviting all the Priests and Parishioners in the Pastoral Area to attend the Memorial Mass. There will be tea and coffee at the back of the Church, please feel free to bring something to share. They also hope that after the Mass a group of representatives from each Parish can visit Fr Clemente’s grave.

GK CHESTERTON The 8th Annual GK Chesterton Pilgrimage Saturday, 28th July. 2.30pm Old Rite Mass, at The Bridgettine Convent, Fulmer Common Road, Iver, SL0 0NR.
You are welcome to attend the Mass even if you are not doing the walk (a lift from Uxbridge to the Convent may be possible, contact us). For those who wish to, you can then join the pilgrimage walk to Beaconsfield (7miles approx) where Chesterton lived, converted, died and is buried. We will say the prayer for the Beatification of GKC at his graveside.

Unfortunately we have had to take the decision to no longer hold a Service of Word and Holy Communion on Wednesdays, this is due to a lack of Parishioners to lead the Service which is normally not very well attended.
