WE WELCOME FR CHARLES ASUQUO who will be with us for a few weeks whilst Fr Andy takes a well earned holiday.
DECEASED Please pray for Harry Quarterman RIP who died recently, his Funeral Service will be on Thursday, 5th July at 1.15pm in Our Lady of Peace Church, followed by burial at Slough Cemetery. Also please pray for Michael John Dilley RIP who died last week, his Funeral Service will be on Monday, 23rd July at 11.00am in Our Lady of Peace, followed by burial at Parkside Cemetery. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK Instead of publishing a list of the sick of the Parish in the Bulletin (and online) each week, we will be using a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with new Data Protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church.

THIS WEEKEND there will be a retiring collection for Peter’s Pence.
SEA SUNDAY Next week is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. There will be a retiring collection for Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church. It provides practical and spiritual support to seafarers visiting our ports. As it is dependent on voluntary donations, please give generously. CHURCH LINEN We are very grateful to all who help with the Church linen throughout the year, but more volunteers are urgently needed, if you would like to help with this Ministry please speak to Denise or Yvonne.
GK CHESTERTON Bishop Peter has asked Fr John Udris to investigate if the cause for beatification of GK Chesterton should be opened or not. Fr John hopes to send his final report to Bishop Peter shortly. If you recite the GK Chesterton prayer or if Chesterton has influenced your life at all please email Fr John using this link. MISSIO The half-yearly change-over of Red Boxes will take place over the next week. If you would be so kind as to bring your current box into Mass and collect your new box from the back of the Church(es) it would be an enormous help. Please be sure your box is left with a known person.
LIGHTHOUSE Preparations for Burnham Lighthouse 2018 are well underway. They still require more adult volunteers, please sign up if you can help, even if you can only manage a day or two, all help will be gratefully received. CAR PARKING Please when using the car park at the rear of Our Lady of Peace Church please keep the middle lane clear, this provides access for an emergency vehicle if necessary. Also we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. 🚗

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) YOUR ACTION IS NEEDED! new data protection legislation came into force in the UK on 25th May 2018. It governs how personal data is processed and we as a Parish now need to obtain your informed consent to continue to use your personal data in our Parish. A copy of our Data Privacy Notice is available here on the Parish website. Consent forms can be found in the Church porches, we ask that these are returned to the Presbytery, as soon as possible. A separate Consent Form is required for each adult within each family. If you have any questions, please contact the Parish office.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHILDREN’S LITURGY 9.45AM MASS All children aged 4-8 years (School Reception to year 3) are warmly invited to come along and listen to the Gospel especially adapted for this age group, with reflection and prayer time. Children who have made their First Holy Communion are encouraged to remain in the main Mass.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.

USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION Small plastic bottles are available in the Church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to either St Gilbert’s or Our Lady of Peace.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS 📚 We are using Volume 2 of the Mass books for Year B. As with Year A and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.

CIPPENHAM CARNIVAL will take place at Mercian Way Park, Cippenham, on Saturday, 7th July 2018 from 12noon-5.00pm.
ST ETHELBERT’S MEMORIAL MASS Fr Clemente was the first Parish Priest in Slough. This year marks the centenary of his death (he passed away on 17th July 1918), and he is buried in St Mary’s Church Cemetery, Slough. St Ethelbert’s being the Mother Church of all the Parishes in Slough is organising a Memorial Mass for him on Saturday, 14th July at 12.00 noon in St Ethelbert’s. They are inviting all the Priests and Parishioners in the Pastoral Area to attend the Memorial Mass. There will be tea and coffee at the back of the Church, please feel free to bring something to share. They also hope that after the Mass a group of representatives from each Parish can visit Fr Clemente’s grave.

Unfortunately we have had to take the decision to no longer hold a Service of Word and Holy Communion on Wednesdays, this is due to a lack of Parishioners to lead the Service which is normally not very well attended.
ADORATION of the Blessed Sacrament prior to the 6.00pm Mass on Saturdays, beginning at 5.15pm. Please respect the Lord and those who would like to pray by maintaining silence in Church prior to Mass.
