DECEASED Please pray for Deacon Douglas Denny RIP who died recently, his body will be received into Our Lady of Peace Church on Wednesday, 30th May at 6.30pm and his Requiem Mass will be on Thursday, 31st May at 11.30am followed by committal at Slough Crematorium.
Deacon Douglas and his wife Pauline were wonderful members of our community at Our Lady of Peace. Douglas was one of the first Deacons to be ordained for our Diocese on 9th July 1976 and he became the Deacon in St Anthony’s Parish. He decided that his Diaconate work would be to care for the dying, and he was the inspiration and founder in 1987 of Thames Hospice Care where patients had the very best palliative care.
Douglas was enormously proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a faithful and deeply spiritual man. We will all miss him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.

IMPORTANT: GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) YOUR ACTION IS NEEDED! You may be aware that new data protection legislation came into force in the UK on 25th May 2018. It governs how personal data is processed and we as a Parish now need to obtain your informed consent to continue to use your personal data in our Parish. GDPR covers the personal data (e.g. addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses) we collect and hold in our Parish to ensure you as Parishioners can be contacted, for example for preparation to receive the Sacraments, when organising Parish group meetings or rotas, or to process Gift Aid donations.
‘Informed consent’ means that we tell you how we process and use your data, so that you can decide whether to give your consent for its use within the Parish to continue. If we do not receive a written consent from you, we have to remove your details from our Parish register and from any groups to which you may belong. Consent forms are attached to this Bulletin this weekend, we ask that these are returned to the Presbytery, as soon as possible. A separate Consent Form is required for each adult within each family. A Data Privacy Notice sets out how the Parish processes personal data, and a copy of the Data Privacy Notice is available on the Parish website, or from the Parish office. If you have any questions, please contact the Parish office.
OUR PARISH LIST OF THE SICK Instead of publishing a list of the sick of the Parish in the Bulletin (and online) each week, we will be using a book where you can enter the name of the person to be prayed for. In line with new data protection legislation please obtain the consent of the person before entering their name in the book. This book will be placed on the altar during each Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church.

GK CHESTERTON The 29th May is the 144th Birthday of GK Chesterton, famous Catholic Convert and author of over one hundred books, including The Father Brown mysteries. You are invited to keep and say the following prayer:
God Our Father, Thou didst fill the life of Thy servant Gilbert Keith Chesterton with a sense of wonder and joy, and gave him a faith which was the foundation of his ceaseless work, a charity towards all men, particularly his opponents, and a hope which sprang from his lifelong gratitude for the gift of human life.
May his innocence and his laughter, his constancy in fighting for the Christian faith in a world losing belief, his lifelong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and his love for all men, especially for the poor, bring cheerfulness to those in despair, conviction and warmth to lukewarm believers and the knowledge of God to those without faith.
We beg Thee to grant the favours we ask through his intercession, the end of abortion in this Country [and especially for……] so that his holiness may be recognized by all and the Church may proclaim him Blessed. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen
