MASS CHANGE There will be no Mass on Friday, 18th May at 9.30am in Our Lady of Peace, Mass will be at 6.30pm in St Gilbert’s, Eton Wick.

GIFT AID OFFERTORY ENVELOPES the new envelopes from April 2018 should now be used, Please can you write your name on the outside of the envelope for the next couple of weeks. UNEXPECTED EXPENSES! We have just had the boiler replaced in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace which was an unexpected expense of £2,306.40. We also have had external lighting and the car park lines and disabled bays repainted. This was something which was required for Health and Safety reasons. Many thanks to those who have made donations, we are very grateful. If you feel able to make a donation towards these costs it would be greatly appreciated. Please enclose in an envelope marked ‘Boiler/White lining’.

BAPTISM PREPARATION COURSE The next Baptism Preparation course that Deacon Marek will be running begins on Wednesday, 23rd May 2018 at 7.00pm and will be held in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace. If you wish for your child to be Baptised over the next few months, you will need to attend the course. This is especially important for first time parents. OUR LADY OF PEACE CHILDREN’S LITURGY 9.45AM MASS All children aged 4-8 years (School Reception to year 3) are warmly invited to come along and listen to the Gospel especially adapted for this age group, with reflection and prayer time. Children who have made their First Holy Communion are encouraged to remain in the main Mass.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE 👜 📚 The CWL will be holding a stall at the 2018 Donkey Derby on Saturday, 26th May in Burnham Park. We would be grateful for donations of handbags, gardening books, cookery books, costume jewellery and unwanted gifts. There is a green box in Our Lady of Peace Church porch for donations. Proceeds will be donated to charity. Thank you.
THE ROSARY GROUP has enrolled the Parish where prayers will be offered daily in Church of Our Lady in Pompeii, for all benefactors every Wednesday for their intentions, remembering especially both their living and deceased loved ones.
BURNHAM YOUTH CLUB are seeking volunteers from the community who would like to give a small amount of time to our youngsters in the village. Those who have skills in performing arts, gardening, arts and crafts, street dancing and music as well as skills in IT, for mixing and recording in our music studio. They are also looking for a sports development youth worker who can deliver a sports programme for the Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening sessions. ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.
CAR PARKING Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It’s very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available spaces.🚗

USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION Small plastic bottles are available in the Church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to either St Gilbert’s or Our Lady of Peace.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS 📚 We are using Volume 1 of the Mass books for Year B. As with Year A and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.

BLESSING OF THE GRAVES the Blessing of the Graves will take place on Sunday, 13th May at 2.30 pm at Slough Cemetery, Stoke Road, Slough.

LET IT BE – INSPIRING NEW VIDEO COURSE ON MARY We will be running the new CaFE film on the life of Mary past and present. Filmed around the world with well-known experts and down-to-earth testimonies about how the example and prayer of Mary can help us grow in our everyday faith.
This course will run for six weeks from Friday, 13th April until Friday, 18th May. Each session will start at 7.30pm and will be held in Our Lady of Peace Church. Free 6 x 2.5 hour sessions cooking and budgeting course – Starts 4th June.
Slough Foodbank is running a free six week cooking/ budgeting course (Eat Well Spend Less) to show how to make nutritious food on a tight budget. Sessions are once a week for two and a half hours. The course demonstrates and allows participants to practise making home-made meals, as well as giving practical advice and hand-outs about how to plan weekly menus and avoid spending more money on food than you need to.
The course is very interactive and the participants can take home the food that they make in the classroom. The course would benefit people who are feeling under the pressure of increasing food costs, but who may lack confidence in cooking for themselves and their families.
