MANY THANKS to the team who provide the tea/coffee after 9.45am Mass each Sunday for their generous donation of £250. “Thank You” to all who support them each week.
UNEXPECTED EXPENSES! We have just had the boiler replaced in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace which was an unexpected expense of £2,306.40. We also have had external lighting and the car parking lines and disabled bays repainted. This was something which was required for Health and Safety reasons. If you feel able to make a donation towards these costs it would be greatly appreciated. Please enclose in an envelope marked ‘Boiler/White lining’.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE cake sale after 9.45am in Our Lady of Peace Mass this Sunday.
PETER TRUMAN’S FAMILY Audrey Truman and family would like to thank everybody who came to Peter’s funeral. We also want to thank those who donated to the Rennie Grove Hospice Care in Peter’s memory. So far £395 has been given. We also want to express our gratitude to friends and parishioners, who helped Peter and Audrey in so many different ways during Peter’s long illness.
THE ROSARY GROUP has enrolled the Parish where prayers will be offered daily for all benefactors every Wednesday for their intentions, remembering especially both their living and deceased loved ones.
300 CLUB The spring draw was held last Sunday, 7th April at St Andrew’s and the winners were – 1st Prize: Mrs N Sugrue – £60.00. 2nd Prize: Mr P Bellamy – £40.00. 3rd Prize: Mr M Connolly – £25.00. SPUC PETITION There is currently a petition asking the Prime Minister not to de-criminalise abortion. Such a move would strip from unborn children any effective legal protection from abortion, and keeping abortion within the law offers some safeguards for mothers and their unborn babies. Decriminalising abortion would mean vulnerable pregnant women buying online abortion pills and taking them with no medical supervision and abortion up to birth for any reason. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES The next session is on Saturday, 28th April in Our Lady of Peace Church. Please note change of class times:
- Children who are receiving their First Holy Communion at 11.00am on Saturday, 5th May please arrive at 9.00am and the class will finish at 9.45am.
- Children who are receiving their First Holy Communion at 2.00pm on Saturday, 5th May please arrive at 10.00am and the class will finish at 10.45am.
- Children who are receiving their First Holy Communion at 11.00am on Saturday, 12th May please arrive at 11.00am and the class will finish at 11.45am. Parents are NOT required to stay with their children.
Please pray for our children so that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.

CAR PARKING Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available spaces. 🚗
USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS
Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION Small plastic bottles are available in the Church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to either St Gilbert’s or Our Lady of Peace.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS We are using Volume 1 of the Mass books for Year B. As with Year A and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.

VISITATION OF THE MIRACULOUS IMAGE OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE We would love you all to join us for the celebrations during the Visitation of the Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the Polish Church, Slough, on Friday, 20th April at 7.00pm for the Welcome Mass and also the Departure Ceremony on Tuesday, 24th April at 12noon.
We have several events lined up and we will be delighted if you could join us for the Service for the Sick and Elderly on Saturday, 21st April at 3.00pm, the Holy Rosary on Saturday, 21st April at 7.30pm and Spirit and Light Worship hosted by Fr Andy Richardson on Sunday, 22nd April at 7.30pm.

LET IT BE – INSPIRING NEW VIDEO COURSE ON MARY We will be running the new CaFE film on the life of Mary past and present. Filmed around the world with well-known experts and down-to-earth testimonies about how the example and prayer of Mary can help us grow in our everyday faith.
This course will run for six weeks from Friday, 13th April until Friday, 18th May. Each session will start at 7.30pm and will be held in Our Lady of Peace Church.
