HAPPY EASTER to all our parishioners and clergy, and to our Anglican brothers and sisters at St Andrew’s.
DECEASED Please pray for the following who have died recently:
- Charmian Hattrell RIP, her Funeral Service will be held in Slough Crematorium on Tuesday, 3rd April at 12noon.
- Peter Truman RIP, Peter’s body will be received into Our Lady of Peace Church on Monday, 9th April, his Requiem Mass will be at 12noon on Tuesday, 10th April, followed by committal at Amersham Crematorium. The family have requested no flowers, donations can be made to Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
- Jerzy Sorochan, his Requiem Mass will be held in St Andrew’s on Tuesday, 17th April at 11.00am, followed by burial at Slough Cemetery.
May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen.
MASS CHANGES Please note that there will be no Mass on Monday, 2nd April and Tuesday, 3rd April in Our Lady of Peace. There will be Mass on Thursday, 5th April at 9.30am in St Andrew’s and on Friday, 6th April in Our Lady of Peace.
TWO WEEK BULLETIN This weeks Bulletin will be for two weeks, then back to weekly from the weekend 14th – 15th April, the deadline for notices will be Thursday, 12th April by 12noon. Please email notices to Yvonne using this link, or drop in the Presbytery door.

ST PATRICK’S EVENING the final figure for the amount raised at the St Patrick’s evening amounted to £2,208.69 profit, this will be split between Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s CSCT.
GIFT AID OFFERTORY ENVELOPES If you currently use offertory envelopes the new envelopes from April 2018 are now available, and can be found on the table at the back of Our Lady of Peace Church. If you are a UK taxpayer, you could add 25p to every £1 that you give to your Parish (at no cost to yourself) through Gift Aid. PARISH MASS BOOKS If you have taken one of the Parish Mass books home by accident, please could you return it as soon as possible.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES The next session is on Saturday, 28th April in Our Lady of Peace Church. Please note change of class times:
- Children who are receiving their First Holy Communion at 11.00am on Saturday, 5th May please arrive at 9.00am and the class will finish at 9.45am.
- Children who are receiving their First Holy Communion at 2.00pm on Saturday, 5th May please arrive at 10.00am and the class will finish at 10.45am.
- Children who are receiving their First Holy Communion at 11.00am on Saturday, 12th May please arrive at 11.00am and the class will finish at 11.45am. Parents are NOT required to stay with their children.
Please pray for our children so that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.
REJOICE IN MOTHERHOOD : MOTHERS PRAYERS will be taking a break for Easter and will resume again on Thursday, 12th April at 10.30am.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.
OLIVE WOOD CARVINGS FROM THE HOLY LAND (BETHLEHEM): On sale weekend of 14th – 15th April:
“We are the Good Shepherd Company from the Holy Land (Bethlehem) which is based in Nottingham, we work alongside the St Vincent De Paul Society for orphans and elderly in the Holy Land. Our goal is to support and help the Christian families in the Holy Land to stay at work, as olive wood carvings is one of the most important source of income for them, as 90% of the Christians rely on this sale. So by selling their produce here from the olive wood (rosaries, crosses, cribs and religious statues) in their behalf, this will prevent the Christians having to leave the country in search of better work opportunities, as a test survey from the Bishops of Jerusalem; there is only forty one thousand Christians left in the area”. MY DAY BY DAY Infant and Junior Easter books, are available in the Church porches, priced £1 each.
ETON WICK CHURCHYARD A planning application, number 18/00057, has been submitted to RBWM, to add a 25m x 30m extension to the graveyard. If this application is refused the Churchyard will be full by 2020 and there will be no new space for further burials or ash interments. CAR PARKING Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available spaces. 🚗

USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS
Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects abroad. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box in the Church porch.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION Small plastic bottles are available in the Church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to either St Gilbert’s or Our Lady of Peace.
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS We are using Volume 1 of the Mass books for Year B. As with Year A and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY Celebrations at Polish Church of Divine Mercy, Slough, starts with ’24 Hours for the Lord Adoration’ on Friday, 6th April at 10.15am ’till Saturday, 7th April at 10.00am. The Feast continues on Sunday, 8th April at 1.30pm with Penitential Procession, Holy Mass, Hour of Great Mercy and Veneration of Merciful Jesus and Relics of St Faustina and St John Paul II, followed by reception in the Parish hall. LET IT BE – INSPIRING NEW VIDEO COURSE ON MARY We will be running the new CaFE film on the life of Mary past and present. Filmed around the world with well-known experts and down-to-earth testimonies about how the example and prayer of Mary can help us grow in our everyday faith.

Unfortunately we have had to take the decision to no longer hold a Service of Word and Holy Communion on Wednesdays, this is due to a lack of Parishioners to lead the Service which is normally not very well attended.
