SLOUGH FOODBANK MESSAGE: Thank you to you, and fellow members of the congregation of your Church, for your continued support and the donation of food from your recent collections on 4th, 11th, 18th October and 1st November. The food weighed in a total 27.5kgs, which is equivalent to approximately 28-30 individual meals. Please thank all your parishioners who contributed to this donation. We are grateful for their thoughtfulness, encouragement and continued support. We understand that there are many other worthy charities in Slough, and that we would not be able to assist local people in crisis without the continued support of churches such as yours.
CATHOLIC DIARIES are available in the Church porches, a donation of £1 each is welcomed.
NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION: MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH CAFOD Try something that is calorie-free and not injurious to your health but can be life giving and joyful. We really need people to go into our Catholic schools to inspire students to act on their sense of justice. You don’t have to be a teacher to do this role, only a passion for CAFOD’s work and an ability to communicate well with children and young people. All necessary training, travel expenses and resources will be provided. Please get in touch with Northampton CAFOD by using this link or 01844 274 723.

CAR PARKING Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available spaces. Over the Christmas season there will be extra cars and we ask please could everyone park considerately. 🚗
USED STAMPS FOR THE MISSIONS
Please save your stamps and put in the boxes available in the Church porches. Over the years used stamps have been collected at Slough and have been sold on to raise funds for work undertaken in schools, hospitals and Parishes by Sisters, Brothers, Lay People and Priests in the developing world. The used stamps are sold on to Dealers and Collectors, and the proceeds used to assist in funding Church projects. This can be done here in this Parish by as many people as possible depositing as many stamps as is possible in the Stamps for the Missions box at the back of Church. Please make a real effort to bring your used stamps to Church and help in this simple way to support the Church’s work abroad.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION Small plastic bottles are available in the Church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to either St Gilbert’s or Our Lady of Peace.
