“THANK YOU” to the children from Montessori School who delivered cans, pasta and rice from their Harvest festival last week. These have been delivered to the Slough Foodbank.

PARISH MASS COUNT Week four of the annual Parish Mass count.
FEAST OF ALL SAINTS Wednesday, 1st November the Church celebrates the Feast of All Saints (in old English ‘All Hallows’ – from which the term ‘Halloween’ originates – the Eve of All Hallows). The Feast honours the triumph of God’s grace in the lives of all those who are now in heaven.
ALL SOULS DAY is celebrated on the following day, Thursday, 2nd November. Here we pray for all who have died in God’s grace and friendship, but may still need our prayers as they prepare to enter into the fullness of heaven. This is why we pray and offer Masses for our deceased relatives and friends during the month of November in particular.
DECEASED Please pray for Sylvia Russell RIP who died recently, her Funeral Service will be in Our Lady of Peace on Friday, 3rd November at 11.00am, followed by committal at Slough Crematorium. Also please pray for Patricia Cole RIP who died recently, her Requiem Mass will be on Tuesday, 14th November at 11.00am followed by committal at Slough Crematorium. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen
BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please do not write in the book.
HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November.

POP GOES THE CHOIR Many thanks to all who attended the concert in St Andrew’s last weekend, it was a very enjoyable and successful evening, making a net profit of £1,390.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2018 If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in May 2018 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme, the closing date for enrolments will be Saturday, 4th November. Please contact Yvonne in the Parish office on 01628 605764 to book an appointment to enrol.
Parents will need to complete an enrolment form. If your child was Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment meeting.
SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION 2018 Session 3 of the Confirmation programme is on Thursday, 2nd November at 7.00pm in Our Lady of Peace.

OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday (this week at Our Lady of Peace) from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.
ROSARY The Rosary will be said after the 9.30am Mass at St Andrew’s each Thursday.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS We are now using Volume 2 of the Mass books for Year A (gold cover). As with Year B and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.

CAR PARKING Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available 🚗 spaces.

REJOICE IN MOTHERHOOD : MOTHERS PRAYERS For Mothers who wish to pray together for their children and grandchildren – Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties! Please come and join us as we pray for our children, Our Lady of Peace Church at 10.30am on Thursdays. On the last Thursday of each month Mothers Prayers will only be at 7.00pm, there will be no Mothers Prayers at 10.30am on that day. All Christian faiths welcome. BIBLE TIMELINE – THE GREAT ADVENTURE This is a comprehensive course looking at the story of Salvation. It will run for 24 weeks (but not during school holidays). This course will help you to understand God’s plan for mankind and teach you how to read and understand the Bible. It will also help you to understand the Liturgy of the Word during Mass and encourage you to read your Bible more regularly. We are hoping to start this course very soon.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT COURSE: FRIDAY NIGHTS IN OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH, BEGINNING ON 3RD NOVEMBER AT 7.30PM An inspiring and practical series aimed at people of all ages to help them encounter the Holy Spirit and empower them to share their faith. Presented by well-known international speakers; David Payne, Michelle Moran, Charles Whitehead and Jenny Baker. There will be six sessions as follows:

- Unwrapping God’s Gift.
