BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please leave the names of any relatives and friends you wish to be entered in the Book of Remembrance by Sunday, 29th October, for the book to be ready for the 1st November. Kindly print the names clearly – if the names have already been entered there is no need to enter them again. Please return names to the Presbytery.
PACT PRISONS WEEK, a week of Prayer 8th – 14th October. Join them in support of prisoners and their families by keeping them in Prayer:
“Lord, you offer freedom to all people. We pray for those in prison. Break the bonds of fear and isolation that exist. Support with your love prisoners and their families and friends, prison staff and all who care. Heal those who have been wounded by the actions of others, especially the victims of crime. Help us to forgive one another, to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly together with Christ in His strength and in His spirit, now and every day”.
MARRIAGE CARE READING CENTRE, wants to spread the good news of the services they offer to couples and also to stay abreast of any needs in Parishes. Marriage Care is a Catholic charity which can help couples to improve their relationship when things are not going so well. Our skilled relationship counsellors can make all the difference. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2018 If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in May 2018 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in January 2018 and will be held at St Andrew’s, Cippenham on Saturday mornings.
The first enrolment date will be on Wednesday, 11th October between 3.30pm and 5.00pm, the second date will be Tuesday, 17th October between 7.00pm and 8.00pm. They will both be held in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace Church.
Parents will need to complete an enrolment form which will be available on the enrolment date. If your child was Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment meeting.
SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION 2018 Session 1 of the Confirmation programme is on Thursday, 12th October at 7.00pm in Our Lady of Peace.
CHRISTMAS CARDS Mary McCarthy will be selling Christmas Cards after the 6.00pm Vigil Mass on Saturday, 14th October and 9.45am Mass on Sunday, 15th October at Our Lady of Peace, and at St Andrew’s after 11.30am Mass on Sunday, 12th November. Proceeds towards the St Gilbert’s Mission project.
ST GILBERT’S MISSION Small plastic bottles are available in the Church porches for any loose change you would like to donate to the St Gilbert’s Mission Project. Please return full bottles to either St Gilbert’s or Our Lady of Peace.
NORES has Word of God Year A books available at £2.50 each. There are also books for purchase to help Readers with their understanding of the Gospels: Robin Cooper’s The Word of God, Year A Matthew’s Gospel. OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday (this week at Our Lady of Peace) from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.
ROSARY The Rosary will be said after the 9.30am Mass at St Andrew’s each Thursday.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS We are now using Volume 2 of the Mass books for Year A (gold cover). As with Year B and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.

CAR PARKING Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available 🚗 spaces.

REJOICE IN MOTHERHOOD : MOTHERS PRAYERS For Mothers who wish to pray together for their children and grandchildren – Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties! Please come and join us as we pray for our children, Our Lady of Peace Church at 10.30am on Thursdays. On the last Thursday of each month Mothers Prayers will only be at 7.00pm, there will be no Mothers Prayers at 10.30am on that day. All Christian faiths welcome. BIBLE TIMELINE – THE GREAT ADVENTURE This is a comprehensive course looking at the story of Salvation. It will run for 24 weeks (but not during school holidays). This course will help you to understand God’s plan for mankind and teach you how to read and understand the Bible. It will also help you to understand the Liturgy of the Word during Mass and encourage you to read your Bible more regularly. We are hoping to start this course very soon.

NEW: LIFE IN THE SPIRIT COURSE An inspiring and practical series aimed at people of all ages to help them encounter the Holy Spirit and empower them to share their faith. Presented by well-known international speakers; David Payne, Michelle Moran, Charles Whitehead and Jenny Baker. There will be six sessions as follows:
- The Father’s Loving Plan.
- The Joy of The Gospel.
- The Gift of The Spirit.
- Unwrapping God’s Gift.
- Encountering God’s Spirit.
- Living in The Spirit.
The teachings are relaxed, personal and informative, rooted in the Bible, the Catechism, Evangelii Gaudium, and reflections on the Holy Spirit from Pope Francis. Sessions last 30 minutes and include testimonies from laity and clergy. Starting in Our Lady of Peace Church in October 2017. MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING ☕ will be held at St. Andrew’s Church on Saturday, 14th October. Tea and coffee will be available from 10.00am and a cake stall and various others will open at 10.30am. until 2.00pm.
