CAFOD Harvest Fast Day is next Friday, 6th October. This Harvest Fast Day, we are standing with Edelmira, a farmer in El Salvador, as she works to sustain her family with good crops and harvests. With your help, CAFOD is giving her fruit trees, training, and strong seeds.
This weekend there will be a speaker at all Masses. and there are Fast Day envelopes attached to the Bulletin, which should be returned next weekend of 7th – 8th October.
MARY’S MEALS We have received the following message from Mary’s Meals, “A very big ‘thank you’ for allowing Mary’s Meals to again have its Rags to Riches collection at the Catholic Churches of Our Lady of Peace, Burnham and St Andrew’s last weekend. I am delighted to say that Our Lady of Peace managed to give 450 kg of unwanted clothes/bedding with cash donations of £314.08, and St Andrew’s gave 340 kg of unwanted clothes/bedding with cash donations of £214.08.
An overall grand total of £970.56. was raised which includes the donations made and the value of the unwanted clothes donated. It is estimated 158 bags were given. Mary’s Meals are very grateful for your support – this is an excellent result! The amount raised will feed 69 children who will not only get fed one good, nutritious meal every school day for a whole year, but they will get an education too. Many thanks again”.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2018 If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in May 2018 you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in January 2018 and will be held at St Andrew’s, Cippenham on Saturday mornings.
The first enrolment date will be on Wednesday, 11th October between 3.30pm and 5.00pm, the second date will be Tuesday, 17th October between 7.00pm and 8.00pm. They will both be held in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace Church.
Parents will need to complete an enrolment form which will be available on the enrolment date. If your child was Baptised in another Parish, you will need to bring with you a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment meeting.

COMMISSIONED The fourth and final piece of equipment, which comprises the whole of the heating system in St Andrew’s Church, was handed over, finished, last Wednesday, 27/09/2017. We, the two congregations of the Church, may justifiably congratulate ourselves on the speed of the whole operation and now worship frost-free!
OUR LADY OF PEACE CHILDREN’S LITURGY, 9.45AM MASS All children aged 4-7 years (School Reception to year 3) are warmly invited to come along and listen to the Gospel especially adapted for this age group, with reflection and prayer time. Children who have made their First Holy Communion are encouraged to remain in the main Mass. SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION 2018 If you have enrolled your child for the Sacrament of Confirmation in June 2018, there will be a Parents meeting on 5th October at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace, the course will start on 12th October at 7.00pm in Our Lady of Peace. We will be using a course called “Chosen” by Chris Stefanick.

OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday (this week at Our Lady of Peace) from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.
ROSARY The Rosary will be said after the 9.30am Mass at St Andrew’s each Thursday.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS We are now using Volume 2 of the Mass books for Year A (gold cover). As with Year B and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.
CAR PARKING Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available 🚗 spaces.

REJOICE IN MOTHERHOOD : MOTHERS PRAYERS For Mothers who wish to pray together for their children and grandchildren – Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties! Please come and join us as we pray for our children, Our Lady of Peace Church at 10.30am on Thursdays. On the last Thursday of each month Mothers Prayers will only be at 7.00pm, there will be no Mothers Prayers at 10.30am on that day. All Christian faiths welcome. BIBLE TIMELINE – THE GREAT ADVENTURE This is a comprehensive course looking at the story of Salvation. It will run for 24 weeks (but not during school holidays). This course will help you to understand God’s plan for mankind and teach you how to read and understand the Bible. It will also help you to understand the Liturgy of the Word during Mass and encourage you to read your Bible more regularly. We are hoping to start this course very soon.

NEW: LIFE IN THE SPIRIT COURSE An inspiring and practical series aimed at people of all ages to help them encounter the Holy Spirit and empower them to share their faith. Presented by well-known international speakers; David Payne, Michelle Moran, Charles Whitehead and Jenny Baker. There will be six sessions as follows:
- The Father’s Loving Plan.
- The Joy of The Gospel.
- The Gift of The Spirit.
- Unwrapping God’s Gift.
- Encountering God’s Spirit.
- Living in The Spirit.
The teachings are relaxed, personal and informative, rooted in the Bible, the Catechism, Evangelii Gaudium, and reflections on the Holy Spirit from Pope Francis. Sessions last 30 minutes and include testimonies from laity and clergy. Starting in Our Lady of Peace Church in October 2017.
