News
WE WELCOME FR DEOGRATIAS who will be with us for a few weeks whilst Fr Andy takes a well earned holiday.
MASS CHANGE there will be no Mass on Friday, 15th September at 9.30am in Our Lady of Peace, Mass will be at 7.30pm in St Gilbert’s.
PARISH FINANCES Weekend 3rd September : Loose £807.83. Envelopes £358.90. Standing Orders £446. Total £1,612.73. Many thanks for your generosity.
NEXT WEEKEND IS HOME MISSION SUNDAY The Home Mission Office exists to help the Church throughout England and Wales to share the joy of the Gospel. It can seem daunting to share such a personal part of our lives as our faith in Jesus Christ. However, we can pray that the people we carry in our hearts will encounter him for themselves. Prayer cards and prayer maps for families can be ordered from www.homemission.org.uk. If you would like to pray for the spread of the Good News on a regular basis, please sign up to their newsletter via homemission.org.uk Please consider contributing to the retiring collection next weekend. The money received from this collection ensures that the Catholic Faith Centre is resourced and is able to respond to those who have questions about the Catholic Faith. It is also possible to donate online at: www.catholicnews.org.uk/Home/Donate.
MARY’S MEALS Please bring all your unwanted clothing including bags, blankets, towels, curtains, shoes and bedding to Church on Saturday, 23rd and Sunday 24th September. Put your clothing etc (no bric-a-brac or furniture please) into sacks marked ‘Mary’s meals’ and bring them to Mass where the charity Mary’s Meals will be here to pick them up.
Amazingly 3 full black sacks of reasonable quality clothing will feed a child one good nutritious meal every school day for a whole year! Mary’s Meals is a low cost charity that sets up school feeding programmes in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.
NETWORK FOR A BETTER WORLD We received the following message of thanks : “Julie and I have made several appeals in different Dioceses. The warmth and welcome your parishioners made was outstanding. Thank you for your generosity”.

We are in need of some new leaders for 2018. They can be couples or individuals and the requirements are that they have been married for five years or more, that they believe in marriage and are prepared to share their enthusiasm for marriage with young couples about to embark on a beautiful journey. All material is provided and leaders are asked to commit themselves to one Saturday each year.
