SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION 2018 If you are in Year 9 or above and would like to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in 2018, we are hoping to start a course in October 2017. Further details will be given once the course dates are arranged.
ST ANDREW’S 300 CLUB The summer draw was held at Our Lady of Peace last week, the winners are as follows : 1st prize £50. No 41 Mrs N Brady. 2nd prize £35. No 5 Mrs S Whitehouse. 3rd prize £15. No 108 Mrs Kathleen Smith. The next draw will take place after 30th September. If you are not already a member, or if you want to increase your chance of winning, then complete a form which can be found on the Church noticeboards and return before 30th September.
CAN YOU HELP? At Funerals we need help with handing out the Order of Service and helping tidy the Church after the funeral. If you can help please just turn up when you see the notice in the Bulletin that there is to be a funeral held in the Church.

PACT – Prison Advice & Care Trust, the Catholic charity for prisoners and their families are seeking volunteers to help with prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families. Free training and support will be given for parishioners interested in volunteering with them in prisons or in the local community. No previous experience necessary. OUR LADY OF PEACE CHURCH ‘DEFECTS LOG’ BOOK There is a ‘defects log’ book on the bookcase in Our Lady of Peace Church. If you find any defects which need to be investigated in the Church please make a note in the book.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer, praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St Andrew’s every Thursday from 8.30am – 9.30am. All welcome.
ROSARY The Rosary will be said after the 9.30am Mass at St Andrew’s each Thursday.
MASS OFFERING FORMS are available in the Church porches which you can complete for any Mass intentions you wish to have offered. Please return the form, with your offering, in an envelope and hand to Fr Andy or Yvonne, or leave in the Sacristy or Presbytery.
PARISH MASS BOOKS We are now using Volume 2 of the Mass books for Year A (gold cover). As with Year B and Year C, books if you would like to donate £1.95 for one of these books, or £7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne at the Sacristy or Presbytery: for a deceased person please add ‘RIP’ to the name or names; for someone alive, please add ‘Intention’.
CAR PARKING Please when parking at Our Lady of Peace we ask that you take care not to block pavements or the corner of the road leading into St Michael’s Court. It is very difficult for residents of St Michael’s Court to access Lower Britwell Road when cars are parked on the corner obstructing the view onto the road. When using the car park please drive in as far as you can to allow us to use all the available 🚗🚗 spaces.
SICK & HOUSEBOUND CONTACT Maura Potter, is our Pastoral Co-ordinator for the sick and housebound, email Maura using this link or telephone 01628 666278. Upcoming Events
PARISH RETREAT This year we are holding the retreat at the Sion Community in Brentwood. It will be a residential weekend running from the afternoon/evening of 29th September 2017 and finishing on Sunday, 1st October. We will be able to cater for individuals, couples and families. We would like to get some idea of the numbers interested in attending. The retreat will be led by Fr Simon and transport can be laid on for those who might need it. BIBLE TIMELINE – THE GREAT ADVENTURE This is a comprehensive course looking at the story of Salvation. It will run for 24 weeks (but not during school holidays). This course will help you to understand Gods’ plan for mankind and teach you how to read and understand the Bible.
It will also help you to understand the Liturgy of the Word during Mass and encourage you to read your Bible more regularly. We are hoping to start this course after the school summer break.
If you are interested please register your interest with any of the Parish Evangelisation Team as follows – Laurent Janot, Cedrica Lobo, Leela Kuthokathen, Ed Kwiatkowski, Anna Kwiatkowski, Bernie Garfitt or Bob Bryant. There will be a presentation evening during July for those interested.
