SS PETER & PAUL – HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION on Thursday, 29th June. Mass will be in St Andrew’s at 9.30am and in Our Lady of Peace at 7.30pm.
REV’D MICHAEL WESTNEY, a popular past Anglican Vicar at St Andrew’s Shared Church, died recently, his Funeral will be in St Peter’s Church, Burnham, on Friday, 30th June at 11.45am.
PARISH FINANCES Weekend 18th June : Loose £677.10. Envelopes £193. Standing Orders £446. Total £1,316.10. The retiring collection for Day for Life amounted to £478.51. Many thanks for your generosity.
NEXT WEEKEND there will be a retiring collection for Peter’s Pence.
THIS WEEKEND copies of our financial figures will be available to take home, there will also be a flyer attached asking if you are able to increase your offertory giving. We are enormously grateful to those who contribute to the Church. Your offertory giving and donations received are an essential part of the running of the Church, for which we rely upon greatly, and we especially thank you for your contributions in the current economic climate.
We are appealing to those who currently donate and to those who would like to donate. The request is essentially about the way you donate. If you are a UK tax payer and we receive your donations directly from your Bank, through Standing Order, or through the offertory envelope scheme, the Church can claim an additional 25% of the value of your contribution from the Government through their charitable donations scheme which is also known as Gift-Aid. This would dramatically improve our finances at no additional cost to our congregation.
Our appeal this weekend is to ask if you are able to set up your donations in this way. It will be a ‘one off’ inconvenience to arrange through your Bank, and the appropriate form can be made available to make this easier for you. If you wish to make your giving through the Offertory envelope system then a box of envelopes can be supplied to you. If you are not in a position to commit to giving regularly in this way there are yellow envelopes available at the back of the Church for ‘one off’ donations that can also be used by us to claim this additional money from the Government. As you leave Church today there will be the opportunity to give your details if you wish to set up a Standing Order or to use the envelope system. If you require any further information please ring Yvonne on 01628 605764.
CONGRATULATIONS to Edward Thomas Atwood who will be Baptised at Our Lady of Peace on Saturday, 1st July. Please pray for his parents, Godparents and Grandparents.

SLOUGH FOODBANK “Thank you for your donations of food, which we received on 9th June. They weighed in a total 13.8kgs. This is equivalent to approximately 14/15 individual meals. Please thank all your members and friends who contributed to this donation. We are grateful for their thoughtfulness, encouragement and continued support.
Our Wish List for June is: Priority Needs – Laundry capsules, Shampoo, deodorants, razors and shaving foam. Other Needs – 1 Litre Fruit juice, Biscuits, Sponge puddings, Tinned Fish, Tinned Tomatoes, Pasta Sauce, Tinned Halal Meat, Halal Jamaican Patties, Carrier Bags. Our stocks of these items are often low as they are products which are included in almost every parcel given to a recipient. Please DO NOT INCLUDE tins of baked beans, or tins of chick peas in your donation as our shelves are full from floor to ceiling with these products.
Our prime function is to supply food to those in need, but we also give kitchen liquids and personal hygiene products fairly regularly, and children’s toys and books, and pet foods occasionally”.
