PARISH PILGRIMAGE Late last year we asked if some Parishioners would be interested in the possibility of a Parish Pilgrimage in 2017. The choice of where you would like to go would have determined where we would visit. Unfortunately due to lack of interest, a group of 25 is necessary to make it viable, it has been decided to leave for this year. Maybe 2018!
SLOUGH FOODBANK thanks Parishioners from Our Lady of Peace and St Andrew’s for their donations which they received on 6th and 10th January. Our Lady of Peace weighed 20.3 kgs and is equivalent to about 23 individual meals and St Andrew’s weighed 143.3 and is equivalent to about 163 meals. They thank all our members and friends who gave gifts to make up this donation. Your generosity and continued support is greatly appreciated.
Their Wish List for JANUARY/FEBRUARY is Long Life Milk, Pasta Sauce, Rice (500g or 1kg), Tinned Spaghetti, Sponge Puddings, Instant Mash Potato and Washing up Liquid, Tin Openers, Shampoo, Baby Wipes, Carrier Bags. Their stocks of these items are often low as they are products which are included in almost every parcel given to a recipient.
Their prime function is to supply food to those in need, but they also give kitchen liquids and personal hygiene products fairly regularly, and children’s toys and books, and pet foods occasionally.
